provo beat alvarado who was coming off a big win against undefeated rios, he gave bradley (top ten p4p fighter) complete HELL and almost stopped him many times. provo was ranked very highly at 140 and a fan favorite.

karass is a journeyman. he is tough, but a journeyman. josesito lopez was coming off a loss against canelo and his only achievement is making ortiz quit. wow big whoop. ortiz ain't that great.

and broner was no good at welterweight, he struggled against feather fisted and past prime malignaggi and he was grossly overrated. completely overrated.

and in terms of skill algieri is FARRRR better than maidana. algieri can box and move, he knows how to utilize his range well, good counter puncher, good defense. all maidana knows how to do is plod forward and throw weird punches.

aligeri is #3 ranked jr welterweight, undefeated, wbo world champion, young and prime, slick pure boxer, tall and rangy with a good ring IQ

pac will be fighting TWO highly ranked, undefeated slick boxing world champs whereas floyd is fighting the same slow plodder twice.

Provonikov is a good 140 fighter, but what is his resume??? He beat Alvarado, lost to Bradley in a tough fight, and lost to Herrera......

Karass and Lopez were at least decent wins at 147. Karass would go on to beat Berto at least at 147, and Lopez previous fight at 147 was a stoppage win over Ortiz at least. And Broner was at least a multi division champ coming off a win over a WW titlist. And don't twist around ****....damn near everyone said Broner was going to have a field day with Maidana, and picked Broner to win.

So no....beating Provo at 140 isn't better than getting three decent wins at 147

If Floyd fought Algieri, what would people be saying??? Oh my god the hate that'd receive. Floyd fighting Guerrero or Maidana is at least fighting top ranked contenders/other champion in his weight class.

If you're going to fight someone from 140, it better be like Hatton in 2007 or Bradley in 2012, the best fighter there.

Algieri is someone no one knew or gave a **** about a few months ago, who was fighting a guy 14-12 less than a year ago. C'mon man. He should fight more fights a 140 and establish he's THE GUY there, or move up to 147 and fight some decent guys there before fighting someone like a Pac or Floyd.
