His opponents punches always look like one mor inch they would have landed, or a little more speed. The reality is Mayweather's timing is such that his opponents barely miss, this is so Mayweather can constantly be in a counter punching position while still maintaining defense. Mayweather could not time Cotto's jab so he got hit by it a lot, Mayweather was definitely fast enough to evade Cotto's jab but Cottto's timing was awkward.
Speed would help. Problem with your reasoning is it's the sum of Chino's parts that makes him a problem for Floyd... The power, the awkwardness, the relentlessness, the mentality, the physicality.

Add more speed and stamina to the equation that is Maidana and it could tip the scales decisively

Good point. I think Maidana can hurt Floyd and I also think he stung him a bit with one or two shots in their first encounter. But he lost the fight partially because he missed a ton of others. A quicker Maidana will land more and I don't believe for one second that Floyd has the legs to move for 12 rounds. This has the potential to be an awesome fight.

In my opinion Maidana did as good as he could possibly do. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Changing anything at this point is pointless.

@ 158 Maidana will be quicker for sure. We know he won't be quicker than Jr.

Four things must happen for Maidana to win the fight:

More Stamina to fight as strong in the last 4 rounds as the first 8.

Straight rights with the looping rights to keep Jr guessing.

          toughen up that GUT !!

          Knock Jr OUT!!!!!

The Judges have been will be and will Always be in JR's Corner !!!!!!!!!!

Jr is the Main crybaby in boxing, he gets hit on the hip and shakes his leg , crying to the ref, hahahaha,,,gets a little cut and can't believe it,,,,he nearly SH#T himself and in the corner, "I CAN'T SEE,,, I CAN'T SEE " , had me laughin in the floor, poor little guy. bless his little heart , he got cut. IF the cut was bad TBE would have QUIT like uncle Rog, hahahahahaha

But its ok for little Jr to use elbows and cheap shots, he's the main dawg then ain't he, hahahahha

Jr is leaving his prime on a daily basis, and that adds up in three or four months.

Now he won't say for absolute that he is fighting Maidana, because for one thing he don't want Maidana to have all the time he really needs BUT if Maidana has been smart he has been putting the miles in on the road, getting ready just in CASE.

One thing for sure and that is JR is Liar and you can NEVER trust that dude.

We'll because I don't think Maidana was close to winning the first fight as many Mayweather haters on these forums believe (not saying you are a hater) I will have to disagree. There are more moments in the fight where Maidana didn't affect Floyd at all, then the very few moments that Maidana landed clean. Saying that Maidana comes In better changes the fight makes no sense because you are disregarding the fact that Mayweather would also be that much better. Irregardless, Maidana was perceived to be a problem because of his volume punching, in order for Maidana to be more accurate he would have to punch less,be more controlled and throw less looping punches, which would reduce his awkwardness and he will loose worst. If Maidana is some how all of a sudden faster (because Maidana has never been regarded as fast fighter even in the lighter weights) he will be more out of control, he will miss more, and the fight will be uglier then the first in which Maidana still loses.

The sum of Maidana is pick your poison you still loose.

Any word on which brand of pillows Mayweather is going to make Maidana wear? But Mayweather is a warrior right...

Maidana just needs to connect on that famous Mayweather glass chin and just like Uncle Roger and Floyd Sr... it'll all be over...

I think it's a mistake, Maidana needs his size and power to overwhelm Mayweather... We don't need Chino weight drained the night of the fight... He should come at his most comfortable weight... If they're thinking they're gonna be able to outbox Mayweather, they are wrong... Mayweather has long arms and quick feet and a pretty good boxing IQ to go with it... To outbox Mayweather, you need speed and quick reflexes ala Judah in their fight... Maidana doesn't have much speed or quick reflexes... Maidana is a brawler who likes to come forward Though he has definetely improved under Robert Garcia's tutelage, Chino would have to trick Mayweather or set traps to pull it off. Maidana does have a good jab, he should use it more, but throw some feints too so he doesn't get too predictable... jab to the head and the body and mix it up... And don't stay in front of Mayweather... after he throws a jab or a straight right, he should move left or right or move his head left or right so Mayweather won't be able to time him so easily... By moving to one side or the other it will force Mayweather catch up to him and hop on his front foot to reposition himself... Chino has to be first too, always keep in mind that Mayweather doesn't care about the knockouts, he's perfectly happy to rack up points and win a decision... Anything to get Mayweather out of his comfort zone will be a positive... And when he gets Mayweather in the corner, he should aim at his chest or his stomach, forget about hitting him in the head, his shoulder roll is too advanced to catch him clean unless when he's about to retaliate... He could get lucky and land a good punch, but don't hold your breath... and he should try that overhead right sporadically, set it up somehow... Another thing I've noticed is that after the opponent gets him in the corner and throws his combinations, Mayweather will ALWAYS try to come back with combinations of his own to rack up points, SO... right after Maidana finishes up his combination in the corner, retreat a little bit, wait about a second and fire a hard shot! With good timing and a little luck, it will catch Mayweather on the chin and be it'll be all over... However Mayweather does have a good chin, as seen in the Mosley fight... so if this happens against all odds and Mayweather is stunned from the punch, he is gonna come forward, like he did with Mosley, SO Chino will need to take a step back and shoot an uppercut and maybe a left hook... Robert Garcia are you reading this?????

I am amazed at the Jr lovers,

He won't test his marvelous skills like ALL GREATs DO !!

They just say to those that want him to , Haters just Hate , hahahahahaha

Maidana was supposed to be a punching bag and an easy knockout for JR

                    BUT

Maidana simply exposed this TBE fraud hahahahahaha

The greatest boxing CON, simply Conned the public in believing he is this unbeatable GREAT.

He was smart to not fight Pac during the days Pac was whuppin Hatton, ODH, and Cotto, cause da Pacman would have humiliated little SH#T BIRD and KNOCKED HIS LITTLE AZZZZZZZ OUT !!!!!!!

                    then

he would be Poor little SH#T B#rd and not the super millionaire he is today, hahahahahaha

                    smart dude eh !!!!!!!

but the best ever, biggest laugh in boxing history

Yeah I'm not a May hater.. I think he's done a lot for the sport. But I was in agreement with the judge that had it even.. Maidana put too many early rounds in the bank and had spots of success in the latter half as well. Of note to me are the championship rounds which could have gone either way. May was doing an Srl in some of those rounds... letting Maidana get points early in the round, then trying to steal the round in the last minute or so. Doesn't necessarily fly with me... A few flashy lead rights doesn't discount the left hook Maidana landed in the center of the ring in an exchange and his body work on the ropes early in that round. Maidana to me got 4 of the first 6 rounds.. The 8th. And the 12th.

I think more speed and stamina will tip the balance.. If Maidana can keep up a grueling pace for longer.. it will only help him. He gassed a bit in the mid rounds.

Pretty good. But Chino will not be weight drained if he doesn't come in at a fight weight of 165. If anything.. He looked wan and gaunt to me at the weigh in because they tried to send him in too heavy and made him dehydrate way too much to make weight.

As for the rest... I think Chino's left hook is key
