Rigo was given a chance to change his approach in Agbeko fight. He blew it. He doesn't care about viewers, why should viewers care about him.
The only time he may ever appear on HBO again is against Lomachenko, and everybody will be rooting for Loma if this fight comes.

Rigo is one of the best boxers in the world. But his style is still Olympic-amateurish. Again, he's an elite fighter.

But unfortunately, he has a couple of things working against him.
He's small. Casual fans don't tend to watch much 135 pounds or less.
        122lbs? That's small.

He don't speak English. He's Cuban. (American-Cuba relations?)
        His style isn't action friendly.

When executives at HBO are complaining about being bored watching, something is wrong.

I also read in an article that was put out on BS that it was HBO that was refusing to air future Rigo fights unless his viewership went up. It was Arum who had to pull strings just to get the Cuban his TV dates. And yeah, it's a pretty simple concept, you don't bring the viewers you get shafted. Pretty sure the arena was close to EMPTY in his last fight.
          I agree with this post.

And yea I don't subscribe to this YouTube channel or 78sportstv- they both Are biased towards black people .

It's really sad when you think about it. I think Top Rank did a decent job at building him up. They got him on a few Pacquaio undercards and TV slots on HBO and Showtime. Rigo is a brilliant talent, but outside of hardcore boxing fans no one cares about him.
Because the card was in AC you moron, they were there for tapia not Rigondeaux, once kirkland demolished the home town hero his fans left the building, why he didn't put the show in South Florida? since he schooled donaire arum has make a point of discrediting Guillermo but has never gice a hint of bringing him to Miami, 10K ppl were chanting his name when he made a cameo appearance in the Hialeah Casino right here in SF, keep repeating what you heard or read you will learn a lot...

be upset at HBO, not Arum. He doesn't have control on who they show on their networks. They already once said they didn't want to see him again, Arum gave Rigo ANOTHER headlining card and stunk it up again. Fans were walking out.

What do you want HBO to do? Its a business as well.

Yeah I'm sure he lost TV viewers because the card was in AC too. I'm sure when he sold less than 400 tickets in Vegas(a boxing city) it was because he's not a hometown hero. You guys are so dense in trying to defend Rigo. Dude can't sell tickets and can't get viewers. It sucks because dude is really talented, but it's the truth. This sport has never been fair

Crawford demanded to fight in his hometown. Had to take less money too from what I remember. Did Rigo ever do this?

And I've never heard that 10k fans were chanting his name at some casino in Florida...Do you have any proof this actually happened?

Fighters like Seth Mitchell, Korobov, Fortuna, Brandon Gonzalez, Mike Perez , JC Burgos, Aydin, Postol get shown on HBO but that can't show Rigondeaux????

Come on HBO let's get serious. Like a poster posted earlier when Shimming fights watch how Lampley,Kellerman,Roy Jones, Merchant and Weisfeld all give him 100% for being such a beast that can't even KO bums for him to a title but still will say " he's a diamond in the rough, he's getting better at being a pro" bull****

Dude was given his own showcase fight, and the people didn't want to watch the main event, but they watched the hell out of the fight before the main event, that can't be put on Bob.
They always blame everyone but the boring fighter. As if boxing is charity. Arum can expose boring fighters all he wants but if people keep exiting the doors whenever they fight, what can he do? That's beyond any promoter's control.
