People just don't care about Rigo. It's sad and it sucks, but it's the truth.
Less than 400 tickets?? Hoooolyyy shiii

I understand that it hasn't worked out so far, but going public and attacking Rigo is just....I don't know, I don't even have words for it.

And for the record I think Rigo is must see television. I love watching him box circles around MFers. He's the definition of "sweet science".
How about this ... "We as Americans have been denied the pleasure of seeing the talents that the country of Cuba has produced (for the most part) in the sport of boxing for the past 50 years ... This guy is probably the best of them all. I present to you 2x Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigonadeaux" ... Lol

In all seriousness if he played the whole Cuba vs America trade embargo angle "you're witnessing something great" ... "F the commies !!!" He might have something there ... But no ... No

Tough match up for Suth if he can stay away from Ned's "windmill" attack he should be able to pull it off... Thanks for the info I thought it was going to be on ESPN 8 "the ocho".

I don't feel the least bit sorry for him.

Boxing is just like a sales job. Your company can get you the best leads and the best spots, but if you cannot sell your product, well then you either try to rework your approach, or expect to take a pay cut.

Rigo is not willing to do anything. He cannot sell tickets or get people to watch him, and he does nothing to try to gain fans. I do not see him speaking English, or putting opponents away, which he can do, but refuses. Even his management team refuses to do anything for him, they sit back and b|tch also.

He still expects to make top dollar but HBO will not air him any more. Frankly he is a money pit, and I do not see any promoter caring. Nobody is in the business to lose money.

Bud Crawford used to get the same "safety first boring" criticism. The last couple fights, he has been taking it to guys, and now everyone loves him, even Bob. You see Bud listened and found a balance. He is a smart guy and knows how to gain fans. It will not be long before he starts getting his million+ paydays. He is the man with a plan.

You know what's up. Thunder Don wrecked mofos back in his burb. Sometimes anyway.

And cousin Ned (4-21-2 record). Ned "Light Drizzle" Salka.

HBO and Arum's beef with rigo is a stylistic one, my point is Zou Shiming's fights haven't necessarily been FOTY candidates and given his opposition he should look much more impressive but we don't here Arum taking a dump on him every chance he gets ...
I honestly don't think it's stylistic...More financial. Dude can't sell tickets and can't get viewers. Shiming from what I've heard is a pretty big draw in China.

It's too bad fighting in Cuba isn't an option for Rigo...I'm sure he'd be able to move a good amount of tickets if he could fight in his home country
Maybe, maybe not. He's considered a traitor by some Cubans for leaving his country and abandoning his wife and children but he may have some fans.

There's a new book out about Rigo.....he is a complicated guy.

I'll wait for a legitimate source but this is pretty shit if true, although I understand that boxing is a business. I'll still watch regardless especially if some Latin network carries his bout.

The book is A Cuban Boxers Journey by Brin-Jonathan Butler. A very good read.
