I can't say I blame Bob Arum in a business sense. If Rigo doesn't put butts in seats or sells PPV's, then it's smart to not invest money into him. It's unfortunate because Rigo is one of the world's best fighters and has belts but it's also a business. Rigo has to either change up his style or move up in weight to get more appealing fights. Marquez is a technical fighter who's a counterpuncher but he attracts fans because he mixes it up enough to be appealing to casuals. Also, if you think Bob Arum is doing this as some sort of vendetta against Rigo for beating Donaire then why didn't he do the same thing to Timothy Bradley for beating Pacquiao or when Marquez KO'd Pacquiao? Pacquiao is a much bigger cash cow than Donaire. Bob Arum cares more about the $$$ than he does of a fighter.

Funny how these clowns love pointing out that Bob is sabotaging his career, funny they never mention that Rigo has been on 2 Pacquiao PPV's, only 1 other fighter in the world can get you more exposure than PAC.

Dude was given his own showcase fight, and the people didn't want to watch the main event, but they watched the hell out of the fight before the main event, that can't be put on Bob.

They were there to watch Tapia not Rigo. Their boy got bettered and they left. It had nothing to do with Rigo.

This has been a problem for Rigo his entire career. Remember the Ramos-Rigo fight in Vegas... It was the main event on a Showtime card and I think they sold less than 400 tickets.

People just don't care about Rigo. It's sad and it sucks, but it's the truth.

What does that have to do with me or anyone else watching on TV?

arum has tried, it is his fault rigo isnt interesting to people? is it his fault people left the arena? would you invest money into a guy who isnt willing to change and is a ratings flop?

Well when your promoter keeps telling the world how boring you are every chance he gets it might hurt the ratings come fight night...

Rigo is one of the best pure boxers in the game. I hope his next promoter takes better care of him. Always felt Top Rank was a great promotion just dropped the ball on him. Most of these Cubans are good fighters just need to be promoted better. Gamboa did that to himself tho. Lol
