As for the HBO Kovalev vs Stevenson issue, how do you figure HBO blew it? Stevenson wanted big $$$ to fight Fonfara. HBO was willing to negotiate this, but also wanted a guarantee that he'd later face Kovalev. Stevenson refused. Apparently Showtime offered him closer to what he wanted & HBO passed on making a counter-offer. Why should they have countered? They put Stevenson on the map, yet he entertains a higher offer from their chief rival network to get them into a bidding war? Furthermore, he didn't and still doesn't want Kovalev, because a loss would hurt his career badly at this stage. Given how Fonfara worked him, I'd say HBO made the right choice; his days are numbered. Bhop can outbox him, but is that fight PPV-worthy?
Same bs that is happening with Garcia-salka now.

Showtime asked for Garcia vs Peterson, Haymon said no, He wants easy fights for them, but still wants to get paid.

Showtime agrees to this, and STILL didn't get a guarantee they would land garcia/Peterson. So WTF is the point of Garcia/salka?

And when the **** did boxing fans even give a **** if Peterson/Garcia happened anyway?

Haymon will do this with every fighter he has, force networks to overpay for crap. Fans keep saying why they should care?

    Because its your ****ing money!

QUillin is an example, but the same can be said for GGG.They shouldn't have agreed to tune ups withut having a deal in place for the Kov/stevenson fight. If you agree with their decision-thats fine. Its still their own fault. They failed to secure the fight they wanted.
GGG has only been fighting in The USA for 2 years, Quillin has fought here for all 9 years of his career. Yet, I'd say GGG has a better resume' than Quillin, and will get big fights before Quillin.

Agreed that HBO should have put ink to paper in Stevenson's case, but they likely believed the Superman hype, and probably never dreamt he would become... Scaredman!

Haymon is the same guy who gave us Andre Berto, he was able to get Davis to agree to 1 million dollar minimum paydays for Berto against bums.

It seems that Haymon's fighters love him, and why wouldn't they? He constantly gets them career record purses for fights and gets them favourable matchups.

Prromoters and networks don't like him because he negotiates better deals for his clients (the fighters), which they don't like.

I'm not sure if Haymon is playing some kind of long game or not, but I can't recall one instance of a fighter saying that Haymon is screwing them, like you see with Arum or Don King or GBP.

No, Haymon is getting nice paydays for his fighters to fight easy opponents. He's not screwing them, he's screwing US with these whack ass fights!! And he's screwing the networks, by charging a premium for the rights to air these whack ass fights!!

i think we would be shaken to our cores if we really knew who al haymon is and his ultimate plan.

i'm very scared just not for boxing but the world. i think haymon is part of a more sinister elite and hidden group. a group that controls everything behind the scenes.

and that this sinister group is moving the pieces to an ultimate end goal. an end goal that doesn't include any of us.

scary times we live in but trust in the Lord.
