Mathysse can stop Broner. He is far more efficient with his punches than Maidana.

Bruh, i recognize Lucas Martin "The Machine" Matthysse is a great talent. All i'm saying is you guys should just stop BLATANTLY assuming he is going to win and KO whoever is put in front of him. He couldn't do it to Danny and Molina surprised everyone. This is no fanboy talk, i'm just calling it how i see it.Comment

that actually didn't happen. but i find it interesting that you saw it that way.It looks like NSB will NEVER learn their lesson. Matthysse had a lackluster performance with Danny Garcia and went life and death with a tuneup opponent yet Lucas is still put on a pedestal.
Broner/Matthysse would be a good matchup, considering that both are basically one fight removed from their biggest carreer L.
my guess is this is being floated out there to bring some of the heat off the Garcia fight, i highly doubt this fight happensComment

Yeah, but Matthysse would have won that too were it not for freak eye injury and getting caught in the ropes before a shifty k/d. Hell, it was close enough as it was, 114-112 on two cards. When will you guys learn to not make predictions based on personal feelings about a dude? This thread is almost a carbon copy of the Garcia vs. Matthysee thread a year ago.
Anyways, Matthysee has a serious problem with counter punchers and Broner is a very good counter puncher so he's EASILY the favorite for this fight if it happens. Anyone who's seen Lucas fight knows that the only thing special about the dude is his power. Everything else is average at best. The only way i see Matthysee winning is if he throws at least 50+ punches per round. Broners two toughest fights (Paulie & Maidana) were against dudes that threw a insane amount of punches.
In saying that, Broner is durable, he's big, he's a good counter-puncher and he's a dirty fighter who will take cheap shots, Matthysse is too nice. I favor Lucas, but I agree it could be competitive.Last edited by Weebler I; 07-06-2014, 02:13 AM.Comment

Broner is not a counter puncher doe. He throws punches only after his opponent stops throwing his. He bullies. He doesn't trade. That's why he gets rocked easily by guys like Maidana who could throw punches in the heat of battle. I repeat, Broner is not a counter puncher. He waits. You'll never see him in an exchange. If you do, he gets caught. Maidana vs Ortiz is one example where you'll see exchanges. Berto vs Ortiz is another. When will you guys learn to not make predictions based on personal feelings about a dude? This thread is almost a carbon copy of the Garcia vs. Matthysee thread a year ago.

Thats just fanboy talk. He struggles with a ESPN level fighter, yet he automatically beats Garcia?Yeah, but Matthysse would have won that too were it not for freak eye injury and getting caught in the ropes before a shifty k/d. Hell, it was close enough as it was, 114-112 on two cards.

If he’s such a machine he would have still fought just as well with the messed up, the great fighters always do.
Even Maidana said Broner had a lot of power at 147, at 140 he can definitely do some damage, especially to a guy who has a suspect chin.
The guy is entertaining, but he’s far from beatable, especially after his flaws have been exposed in his past 2 fights.
I can probably give you 5 fighters at 140 that would probably knock out Matthysse.Comment

Yup thats how it works here, some people are more partial to fighters because of their ethnical bias, or they just follow the flavor of the week.
Matthysse has had some of the worst hype here that I’ve ever seen. Instead of swallowing their pride and admitting he isn’t as good as they thought, they go on and say he knocks out everyone. Last year the same people were picking this guy to beat Floyd and Pac, because he beat an “all time great” in Ajose. It’s pretty funny.
Broner already went 12 with the better Argentinean at a higher, more risky weight, how the hell is Mattysee a guaranteed KO loss?Comment
