I know he's trying to build up a fan base since Cuban fans don't support like Mexican and American fans do but it's pretty obvious he's pandering. I like the nickname and I'm glad he appreciates the opportunities afforded to him in this country, but sometimes it's hard to believe it when he always fights with that damn Cuban flag on his trunks. lol

He is a Cuban born fighter that has embrace his new country...

You can't tell me that doesn't come off as pandering.
In the end, these guys are all just trying to sell a product. That's all it's really about. The more people buy what they're hawking, the more money they make. Only the most successful can truly afford to think about "legacy." Some are willing to go, shall we say, a little further in the pursuit of financial compensation.

Don't be coy and pretend that only this Cuban fighter has been guilty of sporting Mexican attire. Many great American fighters including Floyd himself have done this in hopes of increasing appeal towards the event. GTHOH with your weak sauce.

Originally posted by IFightDirty View PostWhatever the reasons why Cuban fight fans don't bring in money is irrelevant. What I said is true. They don't support, financially, as much as Mexican and American fight fans. Also, I have no qualms with the Cuban flag on the trunks, atleast wear the American flag on there once in a while or do what many Mexican-American's do and put half and half. Pretty simple. Also you have no explanation of his pandering when he wore the Mexican flag on his trunks and wore the sombrero post fight. When he does that, how does it not look like he's pandering?

I'm going to leave you with a link so you can educate yourself with the Cuban culture, they will be more athletes coming in the near future and sooner rather than later the Island will be free, 11M of Cubans will be able to root and pay for their idols.
