Oscar do you remember these words: "we want to give the fans the fights they want to see, the best fighting the best" Oscar those are your words or was it just a lot of hot air, is this card the best fighting the best ? Oscar dont tell me it is raining when you are pissing down the back of fight fans.

Oscar knows it is a junk card. He has to try to dress it up with the best spin he can. He is probably embarrassed by it, but knows most of his fighters have ties to Haymon and he has to deal with it, at least until Haymon and his investors get their own UFC like creation going. Then Oscar can start to rebuild with fresh faces and the few Non-Haymon holdouts he has left.

I don't think De La Hoya is concerned with short term. Right now it's all about cutting out the old fat with all the firings, staying financially afloat and rebuild a year or 2 down the road.

I really don't know what Oscar's playing at. If Canelo loses to Lara, and Haymon takes his fighters away, GBP is left with virtually nothing.

Except the middleweight and light heavyweight division is nowhere near as stacked as the welterweight divisions. Salka is an unknown with minimal power and Garcia is just fighting smaller fighters to avoid the real threats of the division.

Be serious, Oscar has an entire team working for him. This is a Haymon card with 3 overpaid Haymon fighters knocking over cans.

Why GBP co-signed it, I'm not sure.

A few of us saw that video interview with DLH yesterday. It was embarrassing. Oscar was tripping over his words, grasping at straws, trying to defend this travesty. Promoters are in the same vein as used car salesmen. They'll literally tell you anything to sell their product.

Nah bro. Oscar is doing what he's supposed to do, promote. He has no choice. Showtime accepted this garbage and he has to promote it.

Lol Even if Canelo loses he'll still be one of the top 3 or four draws in the sport and even STILL a bigger draw then Lara. Outside of Mayweather the Haymon camp doesn't have any PPV attractions and the big names rarely fight each-other. The only Haymon fighters I see that can potentially be elite top P4P fighters and big draws are Porter, Thurman and maybe Lara if he can somehow stop Canelo, BUT Haymon has to put these guys in the ring with Mayweather so they can get the chance to prove they're good enough to carry the sport after Floyd retires, and it doesn't seem to me that any of them will get that chance as I'm thinking Floyd will probably choose Maidana, Khan and Cotto as his last three opponents.
