The Racket Squad: The Showtime Shuffle

I respect any man or woman with the guts to lace up gloves and throw hands in the spirit of this sport.

This matchmaking is not the fault of Salka, Santana or any other fighter attempting to earn a living.
It's about the caution of the men with the money.
Garcia and Peterson have shown just how beatable they are and Jacobs is being protected for a title go.

When CBS and Showtime request that we enter our wallet for the privilege of waiting for Canelo to get dismissed again or Floyd outclass Marcos the second time around, they best offer subscribers much better than this.

That would be Sporting of them at the very least.

Boxing pundits, and most of the fans, showered negativity on the main event which features WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia defending his titles against lightweight contender Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs), who is not ranked at junior welterweight and his biggest win came against untested Cuban prospect Alexei Collado.

C'mon Oscar lol. Let this be a lesson to work harder on future matchups. Aligeri might've been a huge underdog vs. Prod, but at least he was undefeated...

This is how boxings been forever. Danny had a tough fight last go around so they need to build him back up with an impressive performance. You guys that want champions to fight the toughest competition every fight, well that will not happen, just how it is. Hell Floyd has beaten over 20 world champions, more than anyone in history!, and you still hate on him. So forget fighters going through the meat grinder every fight, its a business.

            Bring back Schafer

Oscar either bring back Schafer or get someone who can make good fights. I'm not buying the lousy sales pitch of 'the underdog surprise' this is not crackerjacks! Top names vs hot top names fighters competing is fan worthy.

You're comparing avoided fighters with a cherry picker. Both fight **** opposition but for very different reasons.

Crap card. Hopefully the viewer figures reflect that and DLH/Al Haymon/Showtime learn a lesson about not bull****ting fans.

I still don't understand why Danny G couldn't have faced Peterson in the main event and then built up a challenger for the winner in the co-main.

This card is nothing like the recent one with Lomba/Russell which any real boxing fan was looking forward to.

Al Haymon is behind this fiasco, and like always, he is nowhere to be seen. People don't realize that he gets a percentage of the figther's pay as an advisor/manager. He doesn't care about the fans. It is all about maximizing profits while keeping the risk as low as possible. The problem is that this is boxing and any showcase fight can turn in to a war or an upset. Then the press call it a fight of the year candidate, while it was bad matchmaking and a fighter getting exposed against a class C fighter. Berto, Broner, Russell it is not a coincidence it is Al Haymon modus operandi.
