Not for nothing but I'm not even excited to see this rematch. I think Floyd is going move a lot and box his way to a decision. Won't be as exciting as the first fight. They better stack the card too. Hope there's no TMT bums on it either.
I hope Matthysse v Broner is on the undercard, but where Haymon's involved, I don't expect.
I won't watch a Dwyer video after a good breakfast for fear of throwing up. I think the advise this guy gives gamblers and boxers is terrible and he is a poor judge of fighters. I think he really is worried that his baby boy Mayweather might just lose a rematch to Maidana. Maidana gave Floyd a hard fight. Witch one of them is most likely to improve in a rematch? Mayweather who is old and clearly past prime and on the downhill slide or Maidana who is dead in his prime and getting better every fight with Garcia training him? I am a fan of Thurman, Matthysse and Pacquiao but Maidana is one of only two fighters that almost beat Mayweather with Castillo being the other. That alone earns him a rematch and means the rematch is no joke. Mayweather is NEVER going to fight Pacquiao so who does Dwyer think he is kidding on that one? Matthysse recently lost to Garcia and has never beaten a welterweight in his life. Thurman is ranked slightly below Maidana and he has no accomplishments that equal beating Broner and giving Mayweather hell.
Thurman and Porter need more fights and/or should fight each other first. Bob has Pac until 2016. Matthysse? lol No.
Maidana is the best option atm. Casuals and the **** tards will eat it up! They believe Floyd lost and would lose again. So it will do better numbers all around.
One thing this dude did have right is that its a money fight. Floyd will make the most money fighting the most credible opponent atm. While also having solid options for May and September 2015 (Thurman, Porter, Alvarez Lara winner, Cotto II).... Assuming they all keep winning.
Well not a great rematch in my opinion because the first fight to me was pretty clear who was winning and the guy who can really adjust for the rematch is the guy who won the tough fight.
Maidana's 1 chance is to hurt Floyd and he needs to actually hit Floyd clean to do that no matter what gloves he is wearing. Maidana landed some punches but a lot of them were hammer fists with the bottom or corner of the glove and while you may consider those landed blows (the rules of boxing really don't) those aren't punches that will stop Mayweather.
Still the sentiment surrounding the first fight makes the rematch the obvious fight to make though, if people keep saying a fight was super close that it could be a draw (Maidana's close friends and family) or Mayweather lost then there are people that will listen to that story because people will believe what they want to believe.
Porter, Matthysse, Thurman are not proven to be any better though they might provide a more interesting fight than Maidana but they could also do a lot worse.
