Remember this below?
It's Cotto fighting Floyd back in 2012...
I trust that in case Cotto will agree to fight Floyd for the lineal MW belt, Floyd would let Cotto use his "illegal" Everlast MX gloves in the photo.

All I'm going to say is this... Maidana should be more worried about not having Ariza this time around.
A certain fighter hasn't been looking the same since his departure. These complainers and ******s are going to be even more whiney with more excuses after the rematch is concluded.Last edited by Dark Soul; 07-03-2014, 04:17 PM.

If the commission approves the gloves, then that should be the end of it. If Floyd still refuses to fight suspend him. All states should uphold the suspension. But I know Floyd is above the rules and does not have to adhere to them, because of money being generated.

Not talking about you personally. But this glove issue is exposing a lotta these cats doing all the complaining as newbies or just extremely biased. Because up until very recently, the last 5-10yrs or so, pretty much every commission mandated that both fighters had to wear the same size and brand of gloves. The biggest examples that come to mind are Floyd-DLH and Morales-Pac I. DLH made Floyd wear 10oz Reyes, where Floyd prefers Grant. Floyd was also made to wear gloves designed for heavyweights, which is why they were damn near at his elbows. Same situation happen in Jones-Ruiz. Ruiz objected to the Grants Roy wanted to wear, which matched his outfit and were made to fit his hands more comfortably. Roy ended up having to wear some designed for heavyweights, which is why they were damn near at his elbows. And in Morales-Pac I, Pac was forced to wear Winnings, instead of his preferred Reyes. This thing with gloves isn't new. It was only an issue because the commissions changed their rules to let boxers wear their perfected brand. Well, that and people lose all sense of rational when it comes to Floyd. But like I said, not too long ago Maidana wouldn't even have had an option because it was always the choice of the house fighter or defending champion which gloves both fighters were gonna wear.
Now since you talked about this in details lets talk about the reality and I hope you can be real and live with it ... Floyd get advantages in every single fight by picking the time & place to the battle, picking ring size and the type of gloves that suits his style of boxing (boxers gloves rather than punchers gloves).

Floyd is a smart guy but announcing that "we are the A-side we get to pick" was a mistake. because IT IS CLEARLY saying I have the advantage in my fights. also right after it saying something to the effect of (I am not going to make it easy to beat the P4P#1, we are the A-side) rather than saying it should be fair or even he just say I will make it more diffecult and that might right to do so!!!
Yet some posters here are quoting him like it is the best thing in the world. wooo hooo fights are not fair, but its fine Floyd said it.

I can only look at this as the commissions considered and realized that allowing the champion or A-side fighter to dictate on the gloves as unfair....
as long as the gloves selected are from commission approved gloves...where's the problem?

"We don't fight to see who's the best, we fight to make money." - FMJ
This fraud got you all seeing things eyes wide shut. There's a reason why he retired after the Ricky Hatton fight and why he waits for fighters later in their careers.

if memory serves, floyd's camp call for "evening the playing field" was at the center of the osdt issue against pac....
and if i am not mistaken, pac was the p4p king then, not floyd....
so being the A-side is !?...
