Maidana's gloves are legal and used in important fights. Mayweather will not let him use them in the rematch just as he didn't let him use them in the first fight. They are puncher's gloves and Mayweather fears the extra power Maidana would have using these gloves. Mayweather will use the same tactic he used before to get his way. He will just say if you wear those gloves I will not fight you. Floyd will again get his way and Maidana will end up wearing whatever gloves Mayweather allows him to wear. Mayweather doesn't need to fight Maidana with so many other challengers available. Maidana will end up agreeing to all of Mayweather's demands just to get another fight with him.

Right -- Which led me to loosing any interest in such a fight or any other Floyd's future fights. (In my opinion, Floyd was very wrong with that "glovesgate" of his.)

If it's true that "Mayweather agreed to pay Maidana an additional $1.5 million to change gloves" (as alleged above) I'll lose all my interest in Mayweather's future fights... Even if Mayweather agrees with the gloves, nobody can guarantee that he's not coming with other exotic last minute demands -- such as forcing Maidana to wear sandals for a $2 million payment...

Didn't Maidana's manager just say that no additional money was payed in the above article? Didn't Robert Garcia say the same thing on ESB? Why are you still pondering if it's true or not?

Team Maidana already earned some good money in the first fight, they really should say "our gloves or no fight", just gamble man cause if Team May doesnt agree who they gonna fight? It isnt a coincedence that they picked the rematch and i dont think that Floyd can pull a Rod Balsam at this stage in his career.

What are you talking about!? Maidana's manager just said that they didn't receive any bonus. Why is this so important anyway? Either way it goes Maidana was not allowed to wear the gloves then so why in the world would he be allowed to wear them in the rematch? There wasn't even this much fuss about Margarito's cheating scandal as there is being made about Mayweather not allowing Maidana to wear his special gloves. I never thought that I would ever hear of a fighter admitting publicly that he needs special gloves to win a fight and have people actually back him up on that point. He is basically saying "I need an unfair advantage to win". But I guess with some fans if it's against Mayweather anything goes.

Yup, he will be replaced if he doesn't agree. He has less leverage to wield than the first time around. He has no belt to use as leverage, and officially lost the last one.
