There is literally zero chance Hopkins beats Kovalev as easy as he beat Shumenov. Zero chance.

I don't care that he beat Trinidad 15 years ago. That was 15 years ago. This is now. Kovalev is a hell of a lot better than Shumenov, Cloud, Murat, or anyone Hopkins has beaten since Pascal, at least.

Kovalev is also a legit, big Light Heavyweight with big power in both hands.

Not like Pavlik moving up 10 lbs in weight.

Trinidad was a great win but 160 was his third weight class.

In all honesty I'm torn. I'm struggling to predict it.

I'm a fan of Kovalev, have been for a while.

Hopkins even at his age in my mind is always going to be favoured over an aggressive, come forward style like Kovlaev who has a lack of speed but at the same time he hasn't fought a guy who cuts off the ring like Kovalev nor with the power of Kovalev for some time.

I'm predicting Hopkins close decision but I'm rooting for Kovalev. I just can't wait for the fight.

If Hopkins can stay by holding and frustrating Kovalev, we might see some *****s in Kovalev's armor. I think Hopkins is just too old to do this.

It's not an easy fight to pick IMO, not even a little. Kovalev's style is a nightmare for an aging, low activity fighter, but Hopkins 5 years ago would almost definitely be a heavy favorite over Kovalev.

It does come down to Hopkins vs. Father Time, yet again. How many times have we been here, I know, but eventually Father Time is going to win.

Big factor will be what the referee lets Hopkins get away with. If Hopkins can foul and clinch and eliminate body punching by faking low blows, pulling all the dirty tricks he loves, it will stack the deck greatly against Kovalev.

Rosado vs. Kirkland on the undercard......DAYUM! This could turn out to be the best card this year. We need one more decent match-up, preferably a prospect stepping up.

Oh yeah Hopkins 5 years ago takes him to school outside a punchers chance.

It's hard to gauge Hopkins at the moment because his opposition hasn't been stellar in recent years.

Kovalevs going to be the hardest puncher he's faced in a long time. Possibly ever.

Kovalev has to go to work straight away, not let him keep distance and try to stop him from spoiling.

If Hopkins can get off and then hold successfully then he will win.

Kovalev is pretty quick on his feet, it wont be easy for Hopkins to be a spoiler in this fight
