You are failing to realize why it matters NOW. Golden Boy had a shake up, Richard left the company, Hopkins stated he was backing Richard and went on to say hes not under contract with Golden Boy, theres NOTHING preventing him from fighting on HBO now, hes not exclusive to Showtime or Golden Boy.. the fight is more serious now than ever,Comment

I haven't heard anything from HBO about this and I haven't read this anywhere else...I'm assuming this is just a rumor started by a "source"
Btw...Bernard is an Alien because he sure disappeared in his spaceship when Pascal demanded that he agree to random-blood testing...
I'm sorry to say this but if Bernard were Filipino, he'd be accused of taking PEDs on refusing to take the tests against Pascal and his accomplishments so late in his career... and the "Online nerds" would be saying he's a juicer. But of course he gets a pass because he's Black..and well Black fighters are just better at boxing so we should expect Hopkins to be doing this naturally..although Peterson, Berto, and Mosley have been caught juicing... and I can't remember one Filipino testing positive...

Okay. Well I hope you're right. Let's see what happens. You are failing to realize why it matters NOW. Golden Boy had a shake up, Richard left the company, Hopkins stated he was backing Richard and went on to say hes not under contract with Golden Boy, theres NOTHING preventing him from fighting on HBO now, hes not exclusive to Showtime or Golden Boy.. the fight is more serious now than ever,
Just don't say Kovalev ducked him or doesn't want it if the fight doesn't happenComment

You refuse to understand the logic as to why the fight wasnt approved by the network and theres no hope, Im not trying to change anyones point of view here, if you dont get, you dont get it. It is what it is.Comment

WAR B-Hop!!!Sources with knowledge of the situation have advised BoxingScene.com that there is serious interest from HBO to put together a fight between WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (24-0-1, 22KOs), if he beats Blake Caparello (19-0-1, 6KOs) next month, and IBF/WBA champion Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32KOs).
For most of 2013, HBO was building up a unification fight between Kovalev and WBC champion Adonis Stevenson (24-1, 20KOs).
A few months ago, Stevenson jumped ship to rival network Showtime, with the obvious goal of facing Hopkins. Kathy Duva of Main Events, who felt confident that she reached an agreement with promoter Yvon Michel for Stevenson-Kovalev unification, filed a federal lawsuit against Michel, Stevenson, Showtime, Al Haymon and former Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. their logic was this guy is good. murat is not good. lets fight murat! i've never seen someone want to fight a bum so badly. you keep saying some crap about hbo when kovalev hadn't even fought on hbo at that point so get your facts straight.Comment

I could be right, I could be dead wrong, but all I know is that it actually makes sense now given his comments the past few months, and the situation back then, and the situation that currently going on now, and I never accused Kovalev of ducking before and certaintly wont now, if Hopkins didnt want to fight neither Stevenson or Kovalev he would retire because something has to give, esepecially with him unifying titles all of a sudden.Comment

Kovalev had never fought on HBO at that point.
Dude Espinoza actually said "Kovalev is not a big enough name" as a reason why they didn't want it.... Keep in mind, they APPROVED Karo Murat right afterward!!
You're saying they didn't want Kovalev because if he wins they don't have his rights, right? First of all like I said he wasn't even with HBO at he time and second of all why didn't that matter with Karo murat? They didn't have his rights either.
Come on, don't lie to yourself..... Showtime and Schafer obviously didn't want the fight because there was a strong possibility he beat Hopkins.
What is that called in boxing? A duck. Am I missing something?Comment
