According to the keyboard mafia, any 8 oz. glove that isn't Everlast MX or Cleto Reyes are nothing but pillows and sparring gloves.
FYI:
"Maidana wanted to wear a pair or gloves that had been approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission but Mayweather objected. The gloves were considered better gloves for a puncher and Maidana is known for his power. So the sides made a deal for Maidana to change gloves the day before the fight.
Although neither side would disclose the terms of the deal -- or even admit that there was one -- sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com that Mayweather agreed to pay Maidana an additional $1.5 million to change gloves. That doubled Maidana's official purse, which was $1.5 million on his Nevada contract. However, sources told ESPN.com that Maidana was guaranteed $4.2 million and wound up earning at least $5.7 million, including the payment for the gloves change."

Sources didn't tell ESPN a damn thing. ESPN (likely Dan Rafael) made that **** up. He can get away with it because no one is going to comment on it and even if all parties denied it, Rafael and haters like you would claim they are lying.
i got no problem with the rematch. i was wrong with the first fight as i thought it was a mismatch and would be an easy win for floyd but maidana surprised me with his performance.
or maybe it wasn't just maidana's performance but i think i overrated floyd a little bit.
hopefully there would be no more gloves controversy or somebody getting paid off for gloves bull****s in the rematch.
Couldn't disagree more. Floyd has 3 fights left. The Maidana fight wasn't that close and really wasn't that entertaining beyond the first few rounds imo. Maidana can't hurt Floyd that was obvious....I'd much rather see Broner vs Maidana II
So you say floyd/maidana wasnt close but yet you want to see broner/maidana II? a fight in which maidana bullied broner from pillar to post and dominated the entire fight. lol

Also, according to the keyboard mafia, Maidana will win if: he is allowed to wear whatever gloves he wants, even if they are illegal; the ring is the smallest in history; Floyd fights him toe to toe for the entire fight; and the ref allows them to fight, meaning if the ref allows Maidana to use illegal tactics.
I can't believe people are actually suggesting that the rematch is not a good fight. I'm shocked Floyd is going to take this fight again. I would have thought at his age he would want easy fights. No matter what anyone says Maidana comes to fight and gives you hell for 12 rounds. At no point during that first fight was Floyd cruising or comfortable like we have seen him in so many of his last fights
I'm pleased that there's a rematch. The first fight was a close one. This time, there should be a more conclusive victory for the whoever wins. Also, Maidana should be wearing his preferred gloves so there will be no issues.
