Broner would get destroyed again, maybe even worse this time around. For one thing, Broner isn't that good. Second, he was foolish to jump an entire weight class. He should continue to fight at 140, but I can't see him beating top competition anyway. He's one of the most overrated fighters in recent years.

Let's be honest, Thurman is a good fighter with a bright future ahead of him, but what has he really done to earn a shot at Mayweather? He has not fought one top tier fighter, not one. He won a vacant title. So honestly, we really don't how good he is. Porter has at least fought two top level fighters in Alexander and Paulie. But in the business of boxing where star power and marketability rule the day, he is not a viable PPV attraction right now. Unfortunately, Mayweather is at the point, where he must select an opponent with the requisite boxing resume and the ability to interest fans enough to help sell the fight. With that as a backdrop, there were no options left in September.

I nderstand what your saying about Mayweather's choice, but I really hope someone like Guerrero or Alexander gives Thurman a shot. He can't beat a top tier fighter unless he gets a chance to fight a top tier fighter.

So will he be forced to fight with pillows or not?
Fight will sell better if they let him use the gloves he wants imo. Can be used in the build up as a big thing then.

You are right.. It looks someone is going to have to be almost forced to fight him. Personallly, I think Thurman should be fighting at 154. I think he's better suited for that. He'd have no shortage of opponents. Andrade, Canelo, Vanes, the Charlos, Lara, Kirkland etc.. Nowadays these guys just want the payday and notoriety for challenging Floyd. I say build your own brand and make your own path. To me Thurman's most intriguing fights are at 154 and above.
