Very astute observation, I remember Paulie getting furious when Shawn Porter was praising Pacquiao and sparring with Pacman would prepare him for Paulie, and Paulie said Pacman is not a smart fighter and you can tell it pissed him off when Porter said Pac is better than Paulie. Paulie doesn't want to feel inferior to an Asian.

Its subconscious insecurity, he feels superior as a white man, and he can't stomach that an Asian guy was able to destroy two guys he couldn't beat and whooped him bad.
