I have to give credit to the Commentators for last night..

They did a great job,I think we are always quick to criticize and never quick to give credit where it's due..The commentators help make last night a great night..It was a great called fight..

TBH I tuned them out during the Korobov fight. They were comparing Korobov to Golovkin and Rigondeaux and it was really ******.

Lampley almost went full Crawford mode from round 2, but Max put him in check and subtly called him out on that. If you paid attention, you can tell.

Max did the best job during that fight. Respect.

RJJ did a great job as well. He called EVERYTHING right during that fight. Really showed his in ring knowledge.

I thought Max and Jones both showed some ring knowledge in there..Jim was ok,I felt..Better then usual at least..I can say I did not feel annoyed by him like I normally do..

Yeah, they were both on point for sure. It was an organic moment for them all. You can tell they were REALLY into the fight. It was a great broadcast.

And I love Max goes, "uuuuggghhhh, this is a great fight!" That **** always gets me super pumped.

I think as boxing fans we get too caught up in wanting to hear the commentators call a fight perfectly or exactly how we see it. As far as calling the events as they come with lack of bias HBO and Showtime are equal. However HBO leaves Showtime in its shadow when it comes to bringing entertainment. Lampley doesn't know boxing but he is the best color commentator and gets everyone that much more excited when the action heats up. The guys from Showtime sound forced when commentating the exciting moments whereas HBO sounds genuine. You can hear the passion in Roy, Jim, and Max last night as if they have been salivating over the chance to see this fight just as much as we have. If Showtime was commentating this fight I'm sure they would have called it correctly but instead of showing genuine passion, we the fans would have been stuck hearing old jokes between Al and that other guy that have nothing to do with boxing or what's going on in the ring.
