    At all....?

I def think it's up there personally.
Right behind matts and molina for me. Great fight. The main difference for me is I never thought Crawford was ever in serious trouble.

He was patiently figuring gamboa out in the first 4 rounds. That said it was a great fight and I don't want to get into a childish nsb argument over which was better.

This is why it's FOTY for me as well. The skill level in which this fight was fought at was far more superior than the Guerrero and matthysse fights. IMO both Guerrero and matthysse got ****** into fighting against lesser fighters at a lesser skill level. Still great fights though.

Also, I know a crowd doesn't make FOTY but that crowd was electric and added an extra bit of flavor for me.

Hmmmm...I don't really think this fight should get bonus points because it was higher-profile than the rest. That's giving it a boost for something that had nothing to do with the specifics of the action in the ring.

And as for the good skill shown, that's true for about the first four rounds, but after that it was more of a brawl than a technical boxing match, and Gamboa especially was fighting wildly.

Still a very good fight though. I thought the clash of styles would make for a rather dull, overly cautious affair.

What more can you ask for? Not only fight of the year so far, but, all things considered, an instant classic.

It's a bit like thinking the best movies are the ones with the biggest names and that the best albums have to have been high in the charts isn't it?

A lot of the best fights of the past few years have been ignored by the wider boxing media, such as Lorenzo Villanueva Vs Daud Cino Yordan or Taek-Min Kim vs Sonny Manakane

I could ask for action that is consistently very competitive over more than just a couple rounds. As someone said above, there really wasn't much ebb and flow; it was Gamboa clearly winning the first 3 or so (a few of which were feeling out rounds that weren't particularly exciting), and then it was all Crawford bar like 40 seconds.

Did anyone give Gamboa a round after the 4th?

He pretty clearly won the 5th or 6th. Can't remember which. It had some terrific exchanges through all the rounds once Crawford settled and started winning. Gamboa was landing plenty, he was just getting hurt.

It was a good fight, it's up there. For now, i'd have it behind Matthysse Vs Molina and Coyle Vs Brizuela.

I have a copy of Guerrero vs Kamegai but haven't got around to watching it yet.

#1 for me. It was a great fight up to the point when Gamboa hurt Crawford one last time. Then all hell broke loose when Crawford came back! That is what champions are made of! Both men! Gamboa is still a straight up OG for getting hurt and knocked down, only to get back up swinging for the fences!
