Lucas-Molina, Kiko-Hasegawa, Rosas-Guerrero, Kamegai-Guerrero, Real- Dellarosa, just in top of my head. HBO FOY maybe.

I'd need someone to remind me of a better fight. It was the best mix of skill, excitement, and drama that I can think of.

Damn some of the other fights posters are mentioning, I never heard of before. Reminds me of rap.. You could say 50 was the **** in 2002-2003 then some people would claim rappers I never heard of.. You know the ones that do that battling rap circuit that probably still live in they mama's basement

This fight was fought on such a high skill level, and for it to be so brutal..Loved this fight right here..BTW Gamboa badly hurt Crawford in that final rd..Very good and entertaining fight..

Not much ebb and flow, 4 clear rounds for Gamboa early then Crawford dominated the rest of the rounds until he got hurt and came back.

I think the 9th could be ROTY candidate but no FOTY for me.

Still very good fight and the best fight on HBO this year.

Rodrigo Guerrero vs Daniel Rosas is the best fight Ive seen so far this year. Other foty candidates so far have been Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep vs Takuya Kogawa, and Koki Eto vs Adrin Diale. I still haven't watched Reveco vs Alvarado yet, though I read it was a great fight. I also read Jonathan Taconing vs Vergilio Silvano was epic war, but I yet to see a copy of this fight to surface.

IMO most of the best fights in boxing go overlooked due to the fighters being unkown and fighting in weight classes most fans dont care about. Its really a shame. The foty nod usually goes to the bigger names. Thats why the foty in 2011 went to Ortiz vs Berto, when it probably should've gone to Yaegashi vs Porpramook or Porpramook vs Hernandez.
Could also add Zappvigna Vs Tsuchiya, Lee Vs Watanabe was pretty fun (low skill level, lots of heart bucketloads of blood)

Been hoping for Taconing Vs Silvano to surface myself but don't see it coming out any time soon.

As you said most of the FOTY's are ignored by the wider boxing public because more and more fans are being sold what ESPN/HBO/Sho/RING/Boxnation are selling rather than what the sport is selling. It's a shame that so few fight fans know about these fights but hopefully by mentioning them we'll bring attention to them.

Likewise I'm completely in love with a Korean chap called Ja Ik Goo (or Goo Ik Ja as a buddy informed me earlier) who is just sensational but theres like 5 people who have actually watched him v_v

It's been a weak year for the category it was exciting/thrilling but not really what I'd determine a FOTY but a candidate

I get what the posters who don't believe this is fight of the yr are saying..When they are mentioning other much more back and forth fights..Yet this was fought on a major stage, while those other fights were not..There is something to be said for performing on this stage the way Gamboa and Crawford did last night..Which is why it was the foty for me..This was a grand stage and there was a lot on the line..Both fighters left it in the ring, and gave a lot of them self's..
