I'm telling you right now, Crawford is the man. This guy is one of those left field guys that no one really knew about that will go on to be an ATG. This dude is the real deal.....I favor him over whoever you put in front of him.....(within reason, no 147-154 pound fighter included).

      • Gamboa keeps getting up man, if you're going to go out then do it like that.

He got up, kept throwing bombs of his own and took his chances. He got up again at the end and you know he would have come out in that next round firing if given the chance. You know in advance that you will be gutted if your fighter loses, but it's rare that a loss makes you appreciate a fighter more, but that was the deal tonight for me. He showed the physical and skillful greatness, he showed the mental flaws that get him in trouble and then he showed the heart; what more can you ask for? Well, other than fighting a little smarter...

Gamboa been having all kinds of legal issues and other stuff going on I don't think his hearts in it 100% even when I saw training clips it just seemed as if he was just going through the motions, really wasn't listening to what his corner was saying either, just fighting on pure skill and instincts. great fight but no one wants to fight Gamboa though..
Thats crap though, 1 loss should never mean a fighters career is over he just got beat by the better man!! Dont buy in to what the commentators say, roy jones should have retired a long time ago, now hes fighting in sum tourney??? Cmon man

He would have kept getting up even if it meant ending up like Mago there is no keeping him down the ref did the right thing because the dude was going to get back up again Gamboa's balls override his brain was the story of the fight .

                • This is what I have been saying all along, his inactivity, issues, fighting style etc finally caught up with him. Team Crawford wouldn't have put him in with Gamboa if they didn't think he would win. Team Gamboa on the other hand just want some return on the monies they had spend on him.

He could have theoretically boxed a more technical style and survived and lost a UD, but trying to win, there weren't any other options for him.

Obviously he had some ****** wreckless moments where he had crawford in some trouble and just stood there after unloading combinations, but some of that is once again down to size, with Gamboa being in positions he is usually safe in, that are not safe places against someone with the size and reach of Crawford.
I might be mistaken but I don't think Gamboa has ever really been in a position like that in someone's backyard either so as much as you try to block the fans out im pretty sure it was messing with Gamboa's focus a bit
