I have always said it, Gamboa doesn't belong above 126, 130 was already a stretch for him.

What we saw tonight was really simple, people try and put it down to Crawford making adjustments. Thats not what happened at all. Gamboa being the much much smaller man was required to use his legs to close distance for punches, using up much more energy in the process. Early rounds Crawford was missing him as Gamboa could get back out of range quickly enough to avoid his shots, as he started to tire Crawford was able to start touching him, and Gamboa was increasingly unable to use his legs to close that distance. Add in Gamboa not carrying his power up, and you see what happens.

Gamboa outclasses Crawford, then tires against the larger man and loses. Size, not skill. Gamboa showed once again that he doesn't belong above 126 because he is too small.

I have liked Crawford before, but he honestly looked like he had no answers tonight, and had to wait for Gamboa to slow down.

Great fight to build his name.

Well Gamboa is 32 and the way his career is going it's a little to late..This was pretty much his last stand unless he's willing to put the work in to get back down to 130 where he should be.

He should be at 126, 130 was him getting lazy.

Man hate to see my boy Gamboa lose but he showed he has talent, heart and skills! The guy is 5'5 at best and takes on the best guy in heavier division in the guys back yard!! You want to talk about having b*lls!!

What a fight! Props to both guys for giving it their all. Very impressive win by Crawford! The HBO crew had it right that Crawford was brought along the right way unlike Broner, Russell Jr, and soon to be Wilder. That is why he was successful in this fight! I kind of feel bad for Gamboa, both Arum and Floyd screwed up his career. He could have accomplished much more than he did and made more money than he did, but it didn't happen. I hate to be negative, but he has a young man's style and is only getting older. His window is closing. Perhaps he should take a page out of Miguel Cotto's book by switching things up by hiring Freddie Roach, he has the perfect physical tools for Freddie to possibly reinvigorate his career.

Say what you want about Arum but one thing he knows how to do is move along a fighter a just the right speed until they peak..

You're just assuming that those fighters asre as explosive as Gamboa and would land that flush, after 3 rounds Crawford was able to see the punches better, he wouldnt have a problem seeing those fighters punches, you're forgetting he just beat a world class talent in Gamboa, Matty and Ruslan arent even close to being as fast as Gamboa.

Yet they're much larger and hit harder than Gamboa, plus both can fight inside unlike Gamboa. It's foolish to compare Crawford VS Ruslan/Matthysse based on his Gamboa fight simply because those are completely different fights with different factors. I'm not trying to discredit Crawford, tremendous fighter, but let's not act like Ruslan or Matthysse wouldn't be able to land any leather on him.

TC problem is he's not nearly the puncher he thinks he is according to his pre fight interview all a know is things are going to get a lot more interesting for him at 140 it's not as easy.. I'd much rather see him stay at 135 and unify with Vasquez who could give him a good scrap!

He took the Prescott fight on 2 weeks' notice, was the underdog, moved up to 140 and dominated. He won't have any problems at all and will wreck shop at 140. The excuses and crying ends here, this guy is the real deal and is ready to make serious noise. The question should be, who will be man enough to fight him at 140?

Great fight. Gamboas reckless fighting and his weak chin let him down.Everytime Gamboa got reckless Crawford hurt him. Gamboa just wide open getting hit by big clean shots and he just couldn't take those shots from Crawford.

Unfortunately, once he tired, he really had no option but to be wreckless, it was a missmatch of ranges, and Gamboa needs his legs to bridge the gap, and that is entirely dependent on being fresh.

That's the problem. Gamboa has grew he's walking around down here in Miami at 150 you really think he can make a healthy 126 at now 32? That's my point. If he can get down to 130 he can reign but that will require more work than he's willing to give I think. He will probably be hard headed and try and stay at 135 or god forbid consider moving up
