I am starting to have doubts about Floyd making his September date also. It's not going to be Porter or Garcia obviously. It can't be Khan because of religious reasons. Who could he fight? Will it be a Maidana rematch? It's going to have to be announced in the next couple of weeks if so.

He won't fight Lara, Canelo will be pointless because he already schooled his ass, Khan not happening as he's more of a risk than Pacquiao, who the hell else is there? There is no one else.... Thurman is high risk low PPV pointless fight for Floyd, as is Porter...

I think it will be Cotto as he said he's coming back in December and it doesn't look like Floyd is fighting in September as we're nearly in July which leaves hardly any time for promos and press tours not to mention the 8 week training camp.

Mayweather and Pacquiao are on their last legs they will not want to face these young bulls like Porter, Thurman, Errol Spence Jr etc...

The room for fights that pay dividends is very low for Floyd, Cotto and Pac are the only opponents he will face before he retires.

Mayweather is never going to fight Pacquiao. Mayweather himself has already verbally said that quite a few times. He's not interested in fighting him.

Mayweather isn't fighting Cotto either. Mayweather has already beaten him and Cotto looked strong in his last fight as well.

No idea who Floyd's planning to fight. His options are pretty limited.

I think he is waiting for Pacman and Arum to announce their next fight first, and then he will say he is fighting Danny Garcia next.

Floyd knows he is out of options so now his technique is to wait for Pac to get an opponent first so when people ask him why he didn't fight Pacman he has a reason to justify his opposition by saying well Pac already made a fight first.

Garcia is fight August 9th in New York

I still laugh when people bring up Floyd vs Manny, that fight will never happen. It might be Cotto it's the only fight that makes any logical sense, but there are still a lot of variables that need to be addressed to make that fight.

Date - September is too early for Cotto to take another fight I think.

Location - Assuming Floyd is cool with fighting in December instead of September, where are they going to fight? New York makes a lot of sense but Floyd isn't about to lose like 15% in taxes which don't even get taken out in Nevada.

Weight - Floyd might want that MW title, but then again maybe not. If he wins it will be great but then he is going to be getting called out by MW (which is he is now) but it'll be a lot worse when you duck guys after fighting in their division. I think this is probably the easiest one to solve though.

Purse - This is the big one, because Cotto really doesn't need Floyd with Canelo in the picture. If he low balls Cotto, he might piss him off who may just take the Bradley/Canelo bout and make more money overall and add 2 wins instead of potential loss on his record.

Promoter - This is the biggest issue by far, Floyd has no license to promote anywhere with Mayweathe promotions. He's left Golden Boy and he obviously isn't working with Top Rank... Cotto actually has a real promoters license, Floyd wouldn't get to be the boss he thinks he can be in his current situation.

I want Floyd/Cotto badly but given all this... I don't think it's going to happen especially after how good Cotto looked and how average Floyd did in his last fight. I see Floyd fighting Rob Salsa.
