Rigo is a charismatic little dude spitting rhymes and all. It's just a shame he can't translate that to the American market due to the language barrier.
Are Cuban boxers the most un-charismatic fighters?

They are simply products of the society they grew up in, and societies have different norms and values. All these boxers joined national boxing schools at an early age and it's probably not a coincidence that most of them are introverted and mild-mannered.
Teofilo Stevenson and Felix Savon were charismatic. Casamayor was a badass. I wish some current Cuban boxers were like Casa, but it seems that he was an exception to the rule.Comment

Disagree completely, Rigo, Lara, Gamboa all talk talk s.hit very ****y on the verge of arrogant. They all know their Bad@ss I'm surprised it doesn't translate more to their popularity.
I don't know if it's the small Cuban population and the fact they don't speak English Or lack of marketing but I wouldn't say it's their personalities that are holding them back.Comment

You forgot Abril. All of them have boring style that is not fit for entertainment. Even hardcore fans would rather stream their fights. Boxing would be dead if all we've got are these types of fighters.Rigo, Lara, Gamboa, Mike Perez, Solis, etc.
These fighters pretty much have zero personality. I mean even Canelo with his girly voice can at least crack a smile or a joke.
You see Cubans dancing at parties and they are always over the top, with tremendous personalities, abilities, women love them.
These Cuban boxers though...I am not sure what their problem is but outside the ring they have zero appeal and while I love Rigo and used to be big on Gamboa too, these guys are beyond limited on a personal interactive level.
Lara is probably the worst of them.
Back in the day Casa had some biteComment
