Could THIS Be the Reason Why Shawn Porter Hasn't Signed the Contract to Fight Brook?

That's what I recall but you have now clarified that you would've been in favor of Mayweather's request if only he had asked nicely. Anyway, I'm glad the sport has come this far regarding testing and obviously the next step for the elite fighters in the US should be the year-round kind. At a minimum, they should all have WADA-type testing for each bout they sign.
It was unprecedented and public, and it came from a known weasel in Mayweather. Same as the glove issue with Maidana.

Nobody answered my question about victor conte.

did he get caught for supplying illegal PEDs ?
Americans shouldn't get upset at me for stating facts.

They should be upset that their fighters aren't tested.

He wasn***8217;t present at Thursday***8217;s press conference, but Victor Conte, the infamous founder of BALCO ***8212; the lab at the center of baseball***8217;s steroid scandal a decade ago ***8212; cast a large shadow over the proceedings at the Barclays Center.

After serving four months in prison for distributing steroids, Conte has emerged a reformer, an outspoken advocate of clean sports who found a second career and a receptive audience in the world of boxing. Starting with Nonito Donaire, Conte has worked with a number of elite fighters, employing creative training techniques and strict nutritional regimens. Boxers make up the majority of his client list these days.

Conte***8217;s latest pupil is Shawn Porter, a welterweight from Akron, Ohio, who will challenge Devon Alexander for the IBF championship Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It***8217;s by far the biggest fight of Porter***8217;s career since Porter (22-0-1, 14 KO***8217;s) hasn***8217;t fought anyone close to Alexander***8217;s level.

In other words, Porter needs Conte more than ever.

Unprecedented = he was the first. That's not a negative. Some might even consider that a positive.

Public = who cares? Team Pacquiao has spent months insinuating that Marquez is on something. I'm going to assume that you will side with Marquez should he say no to testing, right? Or will you concoct some other bull**** as to why it was ok for everyone to be cool with Manny avoiding testing but it's "different" in other cases? So far I've heard that Floyd didn't ask nicely, feel free to add on.

but the point is at this time many people regardless are trying to push for these testings world wide across the board. i don't see the point (when this is a recent push)

but please try to answer my question because maybe it's something that I'm missing out on.
The BBBoC has been doing random testing in the ABA (amateurs) and professionals for a long time. It clearly states that Amir Khan has been subject to random blood and urine tests since his first professional fight meaning at least 2005 - it is likely before then that random testing was implemented.

I don't really give anyone the benefit of the doubt tbh, but a guy that size who was able to throw without rest against Devon for 12 rounds without some sauce? Not buying it for a second.

                    • From what it's being reported it sounds like Porter has signed and there will be testing. Kudos to both parties.
