Casamayor was one or the first defector to win a Belt and he fought here in Miami in a major event, it was packed, since then we have better fighters and none of the big promoters has attempt to do a show here, when Arguello (RIP) fought pryor the orange bowl was full of Cubans supporting Alexis, the promoters doesn't want to take the time to promote any Cuban, don't be repeating that lie...

Cuba is a much smaller nation, cut off from the US, with a much smaller diaspora in the USA. To add to that, I'm not sure the average Cuban, in the USA, is as big a boxing fan as the average Mexican.

If anything the Mexican in that pic appears to be more "white" than the Cuban ... And while Abril may have not entertained you he sure as hell had Rios attention for the better part of an hour.

that was a great video but you guys need to make that Boxing Scene logo smaller, and transparent, instead of having it plastered amateurishly in the corner taking up all that space

You've got to be remedial. Fighting style matters, but to insinuate that race and ethnicity aren't significant factors is asinine.

Abril wasn't as highly regarded as Lara and especially Rigo. He's also not fighting in a division with a bunch of marquee names.

He's "whiter" than Lara and Rigo, but he's not "white" as you claim.

Canelo brings women to the fight game, it would be dumb of his promoter to not put a heavy focus on that..that's new money. You left your country to become a professional athlete, ok well what else you got? I mean I respect that fact but casuals have heard that across all sports a thousand times now. Develop a personality other than whining in public, want your revenge win the fight and become more charismatic. Boxing is a short sale business, they ain't planning years ahead. They are planning right now, this minute, this hour this day. When you win over the public the game will elevate you itself, but it takes work on the boxers part too. Look at provodnikov, his people haven't spent an extra dollar promoting him but his attitude, his passion, his no whining won him the public.
true dat. you have to be able to sell yourself. period.

Some fighters have to work much much harder to sell themselves.
