Canelo is the goods, I remember a quote from Mayweather during the promo tour on a side bar interview, he said " the reason why I am fighting Canelo now is because in a couple of years he will be a handful and I am getting older" Canelo is deceptively quick, he can box, he has been a professional since 15 / 16 years old, the best hands down combination puncher in the game, and lastly he is a devastating puncher. Lara on the other hand is a very good boxer with exceptional footwork, but he does not like it to the body, and he does not bode well with pressure. I think Canelo will jump on him early, Lara can crack but I do not think he will stand and trade with Ginger...Oh yeah isin't it a 155pd catch weight?

Boxing is a business and it's something these guys don't get. Not everyone is going to be a star and this ain't medical practice where the best always gets treated as such. Canelo brings women to the fight game, it would be dumb of his promoter to not put a heavy focus on that..that's new money. You left your country to become a professional athlete, ok well what else you got? I mean I respect that fact but casuals have heard that across all sports a thousand times now. Develop a personality other than whining in public, want your revenge win the fight and become more charismatic. Boxing is a short sale business, they ain't planning years ahead. They are planning right now, this minute, this hour this day. When you win over the public the game will elevate you itself, but it takes work on the boxers part too. Look at provodnikov, his people haven't spent an extra dollar promoting him but his attitude, his passion, his no whining won him the public.

You are underestimating the role that ethnicity plays in boxing. Today, boxing isn't a main****** sport. Most of the fighters that sell either come from large demographics that have many boxing fans or have characteristics that the general population (which happens to be mostly white) can identify with. The Floyd Mayweather's of the world are the exception.

To be honest, if Lara or Rigo were white Cubans, things would be different.
