Calzaghe is definetly an all time great.

Lacy was a hype job as it turned out so beating him doesn't get you anywhere when all is said and done. At the time it may have seen impressive but you saw how Lacy's career turned out. Calzaghe can be remembered by the British fans all he likes but expect his pleas to fall on deaf ears for most other boxing fans around the world, especially in the U.S.

neither guy was good before their "career ending beatings" grant was being destroyed by andrew golota before he quit and lacy looked terrible against guys like sheika, vanderpool, wiggins, etc...it's called hype. lacy was in an era of weak-ass fighters like calzaghe and ottke. is it any surprise? he wouldn't sniff the top 10 nowadays.

It's all politics. Of course they're going to induct an undefeated British fighter and give him an award but in many people's hearts he is no true champion or all-time great. The great Marvin Hagler would most likely agree about many of these modern day boxers:

To be honest I get reminded of him from this site otherwise I don't care for him as a fighter. I'm sure he's a nice human being but I'm not a fan of him as a fighter. I don't like his style of fighting and many fans don't like it either.
