Are there any protocols to when a fight gets stopped due to eye damage? 2 weeks in a row now we got to see a person's eye really get messed up. I was wondering when do the doctors step in. I ask because last week, Algieri, in New York, had a real messed up eye yet was allowed to continue, however; in Margarito vs Cotto 2, Margarito's eye didn't seem as bad/not worse than Algieri's, and yet they stopped that fight but not Algieri's.
It looks as if New York does some home cooking. Algieri got have been called off but they let him continue, and Margarito was clearly having his best round and coming on a fading Cotto, and Doctors stopped it (why too because it wasn't like Margarito wasn't answering their questions correctly- every question he was asked, he answered correctly and yet they still stopped it).
