The number of ko's a fighter has does not always tell his punching power

Totally agree, good post.

Guys like Brandon Rios - I don't think hes a big puncher by any stetch, he wore lightweights down with pressure and volume. He doesn't have one punch power and its totally unproven above 135 where he was an above average puncher at best.

Then you have guys like Ovill McKenzie who have K.O ratios of about 25% against domestic level opposition but the guy clearly can **** a bit. Great opponent to chin check Domestic level opposition to see where they are at.

What about my boy Cesar Rene Cuenca? He has 47 Wins with 2 KO's. Clearly he showed he has power by stopping 2 fighters, a %4.08 KO is no joke round these parts, nah'msayin?

I think Timmy can be an example. His KO percentage can indicate his fists are pillows and his hooks feel like wet noodles but when you see him fight it's different. Almost like his KO numbers are misleading in regards to his power… He hurt Pacquiao in the 2nd fight, Marquez was stiff legged on the 12th Rd and Ruslan was quite messy after 12 rounds with TB.

I agree about Bradley, his power managed to garner respect from Marquez, Pacquiao, Ruslan, Alexander and Peterson. Not exactly the pillow fisted fighter many fans make him out to be. His head packs a mean punch as well....

I see posters on here looking at the number of ko's a fighter has and say they don't have any power. This is just not true, you can have power and not ko your opponent for many reasons, you can lack aggressiveness, you can lack accuracy and proper timing, you can also just simple not know how to properly finish your opponent. Fighters like Kendall Holt and Martinez do not have a high percentage of ko's but they clearly can or could punch

Or you can have Deontay Wilder type Opponents and everyone will think you have Julian Jackson power

There a lot of variables. Opposition, weight classes, age, etc.

There are some guys that are truly knock you dead punchers.

There are guys that stop people by accumulation.

I think if you make it to the world level, the majority of the time, the fighter in question can hit a little bit.

There are always exceptions.
