      kendall holt can definitely punch.

in addition to your style having an effect on the number of knockouts, the opponents you're fighting has an effect as well.

that said, when i haven't seen a fighter before, and i see a ton of knockouts, unless he's been fighting cans, i assume that he can at least crack a bit.
Holt made Bradley do backflips with his power.

No doubt. KO percentages go down when you start fighting at the elite level consistently and fighters start moving up in weight.

When looking at prospects though its a good way to judge his power.

You are absolutely right. The fighters KO percentage can be very misleading. Pacquiao for instance hasn't had a KO in a long time but Mosley said he was the hardest puncher along with Forrest that he ever fought. Pacquiao can still punch with great power but he had fight after fight with guys like Rios, Mosley and Margarito who almost never get KOed. Other fighters have lots of KOs because they fought lots of softies. Sometimes a high KO percentage does indeed mean that fighter is one hell of a puncher as in GGG, Stevenson and Kovalev.

I thought Algeri put on a reasonably entertaining fight against a KO specialist.

People do end up thinking of fighters with relatively low KO's or stoppages as featherfisted.

The way I see it is, anyone with atleast half their W's via KO can punch, not always but I think with 50% of their wins coming via KO/TKO is respectable and should not be looked down upon.

I sparred with a kid named Arfan Iqbal (LHW Pro) he has 7W with only 3 stoppages, now his record indicates he isn't a massive puncher, but when he hit me it felt as hard as the CW's I usually spar with, so for his weight I believe he hits hard.

Another guy who's relatively unknown but is up and coming in SMW Ronnie Heffron, hits like a damn mule. Watch out for this kid, he's from my hometown and he can fookin punch!
