Never understood why he even took that fight to begin with. I'd be interested to see Dawson move to Cruiser though.

Dawsons a Haymon guy now - not a hope in hell of him fighting Kovalev anytime soon, though it's a fight I'd really like to see.

I hope that Chad can get back to something like top form though - guy had a bag of talent, though there had been questionmarks over his consistency for a while.

Unfortunately, while Dawson would be a welcome addition (back) to the somewhat thin LHW elite, I'm pretty doubtful that he ever comes back to full form. Would like to see him in with Cloud or Fonfara perhaps (in fact I've though for a while that Sillakh vs Dawson would be a great fight, but Ismayl's moved up to CW AFAIK).

Problem is fighters never really recover from weight draining. This is why he's getting knocked out even by some blowing wind in the gym. He's just another Roy Jones now.

Chad hasn't been Bad in like 6 years. Best of luck to him, but I doubt he becomes Bad again going forward.

he wasnt knocked out by miranda, thats just an exaggeration like most things that supposedly happened in sparring. he got dropped, dropped hard allegedly but jumped right back up and kept sparring like nothing happened. this is according to mirandas trainer btw.

people just exaggerated the situation as always and then enough people said it for people to acts as if it really happened. like errol spence beating the hell out of mayweather when in reality he just gave him a black eye, or knocking out adrien broner when they were on opposite sides of the country.

why? 99% of people around here say chad is washed up then they turn around and say let him fight kovalev. its like you know kovalev is mostly hype. if you thought he was the real deal why would you want him to fight another guy with question marks all over him?

blades is just a tune up, chad would have to get a solid win against another former champion like pascal, shumenov or cloud before deserving a shot at a title. jumping the gun would only take credit away from the the titleholder if he managed to beat him, whether its kovalev, BHop or stevenson.

chad is my boy but he fell down the ladder after losing twice and sitting out for a year. i know way down the ladder is where kovalev likes to find his opponents while calling for an undeserved shot at the champ, but still.

i was fortunate enoiugh to have a great seat in CT to see chad whitewash glen johnson in the rematch. that was the fight that got him on a lot of p4p lists.

dawson was a very good fighter. he had very good foot and handspeed for a guy so large. he never made the commitment to let his hands go. everybody who has trained dawson said he could have been a great fighter if he had it mentally. i'm not sure about great, but he would have been a real problem in his prime if the kid would have just let his hands go.
