Algieri beat Provo with smart aggression, speed, good lateral movement, great jab... What's Provo doing different in a rematch? He's extremely limited, a step or two above tough club fighter really. Let Algieri have a defense of his title, THEN the rematch. And we'd see it would be even worse for Provo a second time. His head was snapped back several times from Algieri jabs. How does he escape that with his face first brawler style? If he thinks everyone is supposed to stand in front of him to win, he's mistaken.

Is Algieri turning down a rematch? People defending that are shocking.

This rematch would be a good undercard in the next Pacquiao fight for two reasons. One, it's a perfectly understandable rematch given how close their first fight was. Two, and perhaps the most important reason, it means Algieri is NOT fighting Pacquiao.

Agreed, chances are Algieri will not get his eye shut in round one and outbox Ruslan even more. Ruslan wants a guy that comes at him, Algieri is more interested in avoiding getting punched while punching. You get punched less and land more of your own and you win, simple as that.
Instead of bching about losing Prov should think about why he lost.
Ruslan sure has a chance in a rematch and he may as well KO Algieri if he lands well, but I'd put my money on Algieri just moving and outboxing him again, maybe even more clearly with two good eyes.

Rope-a-dope was a good short-term strategy, but definitely not a good strategy for the long-term. Proving you can take a punch will always win fans, but it won't always get you victories. That being said; why was the champ fighting in the opponents backyard? Why was Arum so confident that Algeri could win, and nobody else was (including Freddie Roach)? I'm just sayin'.
Stop it!!!!! Arum had to sell the fight to HBO. Secondly, Algieri is not a TR fighter, so kill the conspiracy talk

The fight was already sold. Neither fighter is signed with TR (Ruslan's company uses TR/HBO), so he could have supported either fighter. He chose to get behind Algeri.

I actually see Algeiri outboxing him even easier in a second fight. Just accept the fact that Provo is a limited fighter. He says it himself. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch still.
