Oscar is talking like the fans haven't been getting good fights. Mayweather vs. Canelo was a huge fight (I know he was a bit distracted at the time). Mayweather vs. Cotto was a huge fight. Garcia vs. Matthysse was a big time fight. Canelo vs. Lara will be a big time fight. Cotto vs. Canelo would be huge too. Oscar needs to figure out who's signed to GBP (Actually, he should already know) and then make some proposals. I would be interested in who or what is the road block to making those fights.

I blame Schaefer under his watch,to not sign any elite or rising star boxers and just see them go to haymom, instead of gbp wich benefeits the company.and then you don't have to deal with other weasels,Schaefer is a weasel himself CEO and signs no one shady shhtt, and now he's gone.

Does it really matter whether they're signed to GBP, if they always choose GBP to do their promtions? Is the fear of the boxer being in control that significant? If you take care of the fighters, they will come back for your services. If you don't, they go elsewhere. What's wrong with that?

Ah you must be new to the sport. Oscar is more important than Haymon? Al haymon is quite known to be the most influential and powerful person in the sport of Boxing. Young blood wont turn to Oscar first, fans hate him but ALL fighters love Al Haymon, he can take a fighter with alot of hype/personality and get them on a premium network for career paydays against tomato cans.

A promoter invests in a fighter and makes a fighter's value grow. If a fighter were free to leave after every fight, the promoter would request a bigger chunk of the money. Because then a promoter is not an investor, he just provides a service for a fee.

You lack perspective, Richard was working hand in hand with the most powerful adviser with connections to networks AND the man leading a premium network, to build the Golden Boy brand. He didnt have to sign those fighters because they were already under contract with Al Haymon therefore Richard could put on these tripleheaders and good shows consistently getting paid by Haymon to promote his fighters. They had a very good thing going which is why Richard was shocked that Oscar would want to change things up, Oscar came across as a person feeling left out and wanting to pull rank. Richard leaving GB has no effect on the cold war because the fighters who would make for interesting matchups with TR are Haymon fighters, not GB fighters.

I don't even know what this nonsense is all about. Where do you think Haymon's fighters will go, if not GBP? TMT owner Floyd, the top millionaire in Forbes' list, won't take them. What exactly is Haymon's choice? What am I missing? It seems plain and simple.

By only providing a service, both the fighter and promoter get paid. The fighter willingly sacrifices that "investment" to keep control of his future. After studying what happened to Tyson, Ali, Frazier, and Joe Louis, maybe some fighters are willing to make that sacrifice. I think it's a smart move.
