He's not a power guy like that from what I've seen. He has a good lunch and he'll knock some ppl out but he's not an ko artist like that.

He doesn't look like a particularly hard puncher to me..and also, weighing 147 fight night doesn't make you a welterweight. .Most WAS come in 10, 20 lbs heavier after weigh in..

on the other hand it may be the case that he learns much more from fighting world class opposition than he would beating up on journeymen, even if he does pick up a couple losses in the process. i don't think he suffered any long term damage against salido except perhaps to his reproductive capabilities.

He hurt him several times and that was a much younger, much fresher Salido.

Salido has been down about 10 times since that first fight (which no doubt took a lot out of both guys) and against non punchers.

Salido for all his heart is easy to hit and not the most difficult to drop or hurt especially these days.

When you're young you can get away with blowing up 20lbs or whatever, for an old fighter and Salido is baring in mind all the wear and tear that weight gain will take its tole. He was tired, exhausted and hes been down in his career IDK 20 times or something and hurt a ridiculous amount and Lomachenko didn't really come close to putting him down.

Through his amateur career & WSB where he had 5 fights (all decisions) without headgear he never displayed any real power.
I don't think he is a big puncher by any stretch. In fact I think he is a bit feather fisted personally for a guy with his style.
Salido had a lot of respect for Mikey Garcia's power, Gamboas etc etc
he walked through everything Lomachenko had to offer and smashed lumps out of him.

Lomachenko looked good at times in the Salido fight, people were just massively underrating Salido. Lomachenko's extensive amateur background didn't get him prepped for shots to the body, he'll need to add some body blows to his arsenal.

They're always desperate to hype a guy to death in the lower weight classes to get people focused on that weight class. I'm not buying it. I personally don't like to watch fighters under 135 lbs.
