The good o'l days when Cotto fans didn't talk about money. Now they're a product of their own criticism.

How about we let the dust settle before we call it one or the other. He became MW champ 13 days ago.

golvokin isn't going to get a shot at cotto, and i don't blame cotto and his people. cotto doesn't need that fight in his life. he wants easy fights and retirement. it's what all fighters want.

enjoy the belt while it lasts. it's smoke and mirrors.

ok? i wish it didnt' happen like this, but i understand why it does.

acceptable? i'll probably buy cotto's next ppv, especially against alvarez. it should be against golovkin, but we rarely get the fights that should happen at this level in boxing.

Why are people saying Golovkin doesnt bring anything in terms of money...did you guys not see what was offered to Chavez Jr? I think he was guaranteed somewhere around 10mil...and thats Chavez Jr.

HBO would probably poney up 15mil for him to fight GGG on PPV.

Floyd will gun for that 6 division title, and Cotto will go for revenge. Sounds like a good headliner.

Cotto vs Canelo for the MW title is also good.

Any other fight besides those 2, and he should go down to 154 and vacate the MW belt.
He won fair and square, I'm not arguing about it.

Point is , Cotto vs Floyd would be a fight in which the two fighters combined have 1 fight at MW ( a catchweight at 159 to be precise).

Pretty similar situation for Canelo , though at least Saul is a MW size wise.

I do not think Cotto, who is now 34 and had his best days at 140 lbs, should be involved in a fight versus a younger, stronger, bigger guy who is a huge puncher at MW like GGG.

It is not to discredit Cotto, mind you, but one has to be realistic about these things: he is not a MW , he doesn't need to get brain damage to prove he has balls.
Nor does he need to lie about it and pretend he can be a force at MW. Canelo vs Cotto would be a very good fight anyway, lucrative and probably competitive, whether or not the belt is on the line.
