This is a very dangerous fight for Cotto. One that I personally believe he'd have a good chance of taking a beating in. There's no need for him to fight Golovkin, so of course he should let it be known he wants to be paid handsomely for this risk, especially since he has other options.

Let's be honest here, he's not a MW. I understand he's the champ, but I was expecting him to just make this a one fight deal for history. I have no doubt he'd take the challenge though. He's proven he'll fight anyone. I wouldn't blame him at all for making sure he gets a shitload of money.

Doesn't matter. It almost happened when Cotto lost to Trout, the ginger would have to get humiliated by Lara for Cotto/Alvarez not to happen. Just a loss would be easy to sell as weight-drained and Alvarez ready to move up and prove that was the issue.
