I first got into boxing through my step-father,he used to be the Royal Air Force welterweight champion.

Then when he finished his 20 year service,he moved to Plymouth and started training with the then British and Commonwealth champion Scott Dann.

So When i moved to live with my step-father after finishing my time in the army he took me to the gym where the champion was training and boom.

My love for boxing went insane,i've never looked back since then.

Would say the 1984 US Olympic team really started it all for me. My pops and uncle had took me to fights even earlier then that, but that is the one that shines out the most.

Grew up on a council estate. My dad taught me to box so I could defend myself. Just went from there, training, and watching big fights on TV.

The first Tyson/Bruno fight. I remember watching it live with my father, I was just a little kid and found what I was witnessing frightening and amazing at the same time. That fight got me interested. It was the first boxing match I ever saw.

Was playing fight night round 4, got gassed over that so me and my friend literally after playing hours of that game searched for a local club. Joined one, felt the bags a bit then stopped going boxing for 2 years as my patented detested it. Filled with anger so just started watching and reading on boxing anticipating my return to amateur boxing at 16. Remember reading charli Magri - charli Magri biography, loved that book and further got me into boxing.

Fell in love completely since, had a few amateur fights and hopefully starting again this summer.

Long live the greatest sport in mankind

Honestly, mike Tyson's punch out. Then I started watching the tyson and Chavez fights with my uncles. Then being the only white boy in my family (and in my neighborhood) got me into the gym for a bit to learn the basics.

When I got older I followed delahoya and Mosley. Two of my all time favorites. But, most recently Bradley got me back into the sport.
