I wonder what Canelo meant by saying "...beat Lara w/ intelligence"?

If he tries to box and fight from the back foot then he has no chance to beat Lara, he might get a decision but wont win the fight. Lara is a great boxer w/ really good foot work, left handed, hand speed, decent pop, length and ring smarts. Top notch amateur pedigree, too skill and experienced to be outsmart in a ring. Imho, Canelo needs to be nasty, pressure Lara, make him uncomfortable, make him respect his power, push him around ala Maidana vs Broner or even Perro Angulo did to Lara. Canelo has better speed and similar power as Angulo so he can KO Lara.

Canelo punches from way back and needs to plant his feet, don't know how to throw while moving which is bad news when facing a guy like Lara.

I think Canelo is developing his craft but he and his team are too impatient, he's just like 23 yrs or close to that, I know some will say the kid has 40+ fight was a champion and all that but the kid hardly had an amateur background and most of his pro fights are w/ low skilled unknown opposition.
I command him lately for testing himself against better competition but he reminds me a young Fernando Vargas a strong natural born fighter w/ power and fast hands but slow feet. Vargas rushed himself in facing guys like Tito Trinidad and De la Hoya that shorten his career. I think Canelo has really good potential but if he tries to show ppl that he can box that the Mayweather's embarrassment was just a bad night then Lara will beat him in very similar fashion as Floyd.

Thank You, not sure if you have read any of my post. But I had said similar things to this.

Canelo is a talent. But his lack of amateur Pedigree, and the fact that he has been exposed as a flat footed set fighter, spells Doom for him against Lara.

GBPs is trying to cash in with Canelo, many of the fans are buying into the fact he will be the next Oscar. But he does not have half of what Oscar had at this stage in his career.
