I don't know why people still hate on canelo,he's fought tough opponents recently and now taking on the supposed most avoided fighter at 154 and if he wins possible against cotto next...they complain because he was brought up easily,well that's how it should be,what do people want for his people to ruin him like they do to some young fighters like that Puerto rican that lost to giovani segura(forgot his name),or dulorme against abregu? I think they did an excellent job of bringing canelo along slowly but those days are over now and people still get upset,there is no other reason to be mad because he's already facing tough guys,he fought the best fighter in the world and now he's going up against lara,so people cant say he's avoiding tough fights,so really the only reason to hate canelo is just because they hate,haters...how funny if canelo wins his next fight,can you imagine the faces of his haters...lol,,

I highly doubt the Cotto fight depends on whether Alvarez beats Lara or not.

Lara is pretty damn good, and will expose Gingermon. Like Mayweather. Lara is a very smart boxer. Canelo is to flat footed and sits on his punches. As much as I want Canelo to win so Cotto can destroy him in Dec, it's not going to happen. LARA is going to win a UD and a rematch will happen sometime in Oct or Nov.

Great thread here. Imo i think canelo still stops lara. 10 round tko.
I am a fan of both but i think canelo edges him on this one. Lara good boxer and has some pop. I just dont think he can sustain that kind of activity throughout a 12rd fight. I do believe canelo record is padded of course, baldomir, gomez etc. But he has raised his game in the past few years . I was always concerned about canelo stamina in the late rounds but i do think he has improved that part. I believe lara will have his moments but canelo will be able to cut the ring off and then put in work. I see the fight going similiar to margarito/cotto. Cotto succesfful in the early going but just got pummeled. Minus the plaster. And yes lara is no cotto and canelo is no margarito. Just see that type of action peaking to canelo stopping lara.

I favor Canelo but he has a hard time with boxers. The Trout fight was a lot closer than the score suggested and he lost a wide marging to Floyd.

Canelo has fast hands but slow legs, he needs you to stand in front of him so hie can shine. Once he is thinking he slows down.

Lara is a very good boxer with a lot of technic. This won't be an easy fight for either guy.
