I remember them saying his ear was bleeding , Cotto probably rupture his ear drum with the first punch. That's maybe why he was dizzy all through the fight and looked like there was something wrong with his balance.

I don't see this ending well. He declined a great deal between the Chavez and Murray, even more so between the latter and the Cotto fight. What the hell is he going to be like in his next fight and who is an opponent he can be confident of beating - Broner?

Martinez is done, his legs are gone, this happened in the Chavez fight,he wasn't the same anymore.he should do a farewell fight in his hometown of Argentina against a guy with a loosing record and no punch to end his carrer with a w.reminds me of sugar ray Leonard vs camacho sugar rays legs were gone and so is Martinez.

Whether Martinez is really "crippled" or not. Last saturday was not his last fight. He is way to proud for that.

Martinez loses his first fight in a long time to a good fighter like Cotto, and suddenly he needs to retire? If he had lost that badly to a bum, I would agree. If his knees are indeed shot, I would agree and question why he took the fight in the first place. As it stands, I think he needs to take some time to regroup and assess what the true state of his body and mind are as it relates to boxing.

I was writing here since the Murray fight that Sergio would have had to seek medical treatment in the U.S. in the first place (not in Spain, not in Argentina). The U.S. physicians who are fixing football and basketball pros are the best...
