I agree with the bolded part.

However I disagree with the part in red.

His head movement in that fight was pretty awesome. He made Tito miss a lot of shots even while hurt.
Indeed it was. It certainly was. He was damn near KO'd and he was still moving his head semi effectively. It was instinctual, automatic. Like breathing to him; he just does it automatically. does not have to think about it.

even towards the end of the dlh fight after he got knocked down and dlh had him against the ropes, vargas somehow slipped all those shots...then he stumbled to the other corner and dlh unloaded but I always found that impressive.

He went in there against a guy that may have loaded his hands. SMH!

Anyone else notice how Trinidad didn't get tired at all? I mean, he was throwing haymakers in volume for 12 ****in rounds!! I suspect heavy usage of EPO.

I think Vargas joined the PED party a little late though. Around the De La Hoya fight is where it appears Vargas started juicing. Just look at homeboy's body. Compare from 2000 to 2002. The 2000s was the PED era. Just look at baseball. Sadly, it was a little late by then - he already been brutally KO'd.

            Fernando in 2000

            Him in 2002

The difference is abundantly discernible. After his loss, he found rejuvenation in PEDs. He was juicing too much though cause he failed the test lol.

Anyway here's what Vargas had to say about that fight 14 years later.

Trinidad was much quicker than Vargas and I think people slept on Tito's quickness while overlooking how mediocre Vargas' hand speed was.
I still feel winky did enough to win that fight, at no point was Vargas in complete control of that fight, in the championship rounds maybe winky could have pressed more to make his case but i just dont think he lost.

Got into a fire fight with Tito...

Very few fighters in history can beat Tito in a shootout and Vargas isn't one of them...

Tito's left hooks in the first round were epic

He tried to mix it up too much with Tito. Oscar played it smart, but got a lot of heat for fighting Mayweather style. Vargas would rather go out KO'd vs Tito in a Mexico vs Puerto Rico showdown than fight the way Oscar did. So he got KTFO.

                      He was trained well.

As for what the other poster said I agree. Someone forgot to tell Vargas that he's not the puncher in this fight.

He should have strictly stuck to boxing.
