Why are fans so keen on Rigo vs Donaire 2?

I keep hearing this and how Donaire is ducking him etc but does anybody actually truly care for a rematch?
Its like what even for?

It was virtually a shutout. He won 1 round, 2 if you're feeling generous.
It was not a competitive fight. A lot claim it was a stinker - Admittedly I thought it was great and a real high quality chessmatch but more beautiful in the sense of just how ordinary Rigondeaux made Donaire look. Like this is a top 5 p4p fighter he is toying with.

I didn't see anything that made me think he could do better in a rematch, in fact I'd be surprised if it wasn't even more one sided.
He has moved up in weight to.

Do you really want to see it? Or is it just searching deep to find a reason to accuse a fighter of ducking? A rematch seems so pointless to me based on the outcome of the first fight.
If it was competitive hell yeah go try and avenge that defeat but he was totally outclassed and looked lost. After the first round you can see him thinking to himself ''WTF have I gone and got myself into?''

I'd probably be more partial to it should Donaire beat Walters or even Walters vs Rigo should Walters win but right now it makes little sense to me plus Rigo has a fight lined up and will go after Carl Frampton should he beat Kiko again in Ireland. Should Frampton win again, I think that makes much more sense and it would sell in Ireland.

Because people hate Donaire and want to see him get humiliated again. Me personally I can't watch Rigo, far too boring far too careful.

neither of them really did anything the first fight. i'd like to see a second if donaire actually tried to win it, and not let rigo pot shot him the whole night.

if donaire went for broke, he would have a good chance of scoring a ko...but a good chance of being koed too...that's the second fight i want to see.

were a second fight to be made, i think it would be more competitive than the first. that's why i want a second.

Personally, I don't really care who Rigo fights. If it's a cab driver, he should make it entertaining, and not rely on the cab driver to do the entertaining.

Let's face it, he's a one-dimensional fighter. He can't do offense, he's too scared to take risks. Even in a street fight you don't want to just brawl your way to a win. You wait and counter. Why does he always expect that he takes the advantage of countering? The other fighter wants to look good, too, you know.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Why not do a Floyd/Guerrero rematch while were at it.

Rigo has Santa Cruz, Mares, Walters, Gradovich, Russell Jr., Lomachenko, Frampton, Quigg, Kiko Martinez, Jhonny, Avalos, etc., etc., etc.

If he beats half of the fighters on that list it will be a hell of a resume.

It was a systematic schooling by Rigo. Absolutely no need for a rematch and I'd be very surprised if there is one.

Whilst I understand people want him to be more offensive minded he has a 70 odd % K.O ratio and has knocked down or stopped all but 2 opponents.
When was the last time say a Bradley, Floyd even a Manny and many other top fighters knocked down/stopped someone?

Rigondeaux is so, so precise, fast & hits very hard for his size that guys are just shelling up. Donaire didn't take many risks and when he did he almost got his eye punched out. Agbeko fought like a b1tch - He didn't fight Mares, Darchinyan etc like that. He felt a bolo punch in the first round & suddenly didn't want none.

If Rigondeaux fought Frampton, Cruz, Kiko etc I am sure he would be far more entertaining because those guys would take risks.

what annoys me is donaire keeps talking down rigos win but never makes a serious effort at getting a rematch.

i just think donaire should back up his **** since he is so determined to keep running his mouth.

the fight itself doesnt interest me all that much either, just kind of desperate for another top notch fighter to find the stones to fight rigo so i can enjoy another masterclass.

Because going into that fight many wasn't aware of Rigondeaux skills or they did not want to believe he was that good. They took from other fighters that because he got hit or wobbled in previous fights that means Donaire will Knock Him Out...Sorry Boxing don't work like that.

Rematch is not needed because the 1st match wasn't close but Donaire fans kinda want it with the Hope Donaire can win so they can jump back on that Bandwagon because since that lost it has been extremely quiet about Donaire
