Plus there are guys who have been toiling away for years who got passed over by Lomachenko, that is unfair to them.[/QUOTE]

I say if he's ready let him go and Its just my opinion that regardless of the loss he's ready, but I do agree with you that's its unfair to those who have stood in line for their shot but when has life ever been fair...

The Lomachenko hype definitely calmed down after his loss. There were talks of him being better than Rigondeaux, greater than Mayweather, on par with Robinson, etc. There's a good chance he'd likely be 1-2 now and people are gonna see how useless it is to hype up his 300 whatever amateur wins and that amateur success doesn't translate into pro.

While you're right, its a fight that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I don't care what your amateur record is, you don't get a title shot in your second pro fight.

Lomachenko hasn't been hurt or outclassed, so who cares if he took an early loss?

Lomachenko was badly outclassed by Salido for 10 rounds, even though it wasn't pretty. The fight was mostly one-sided. Salido taught him a lesson in pro boxing.

I like to hear Arum talk straight boxing and matchups, being honest i think he has one of the best eyes for talent out there. I do put a little stock into his opinion of Gary as it relates to this fight.

Still, if he had it his way, he probably wouldn't rush Loma into these fights. All of the folks who are supporting him because he 'isn't protected' aren't going to be around when he at 1-5. Even if he somehow beats Russell, he still is going to have a lot to learn out there. He will likely go back to fighting "bums" at some point, don't kid yourself.

I can't get over how Gary Russell is getting over. He may have ruined his hands knocking out statues, guys who refused to duck, but now he gets a two fight veteran for a championship. He's talks about pacing himself, probably because of his hands, but Gary is getting an early Christmas.

Gary Russell Jr. is a southpaw who likes to walk his opponents down. The guy who beat Lomachenko, Selimov, also seems to be a southpaw who walks his opponents down. They're obviously not even close to identical, but something to think about. Then again, Gary Russell Jr. is more of a high guard 1-2 kind of guy than is Selimov.
