He may not walk away is what I'm saying. Someone is trying to make a fast buck and Pro boxing is a dangerous game. Salido should have been a caution, a bunch of red flags should have popped up. Arum says it's Loma's daddy doing the talking, getting the back door ready, in case Loma gets hurt bad.Comment

People call themselves boxing fans and don't realize Lomo would go through Gary Russel's whole resume unscathed! Forget the politics, this is an awesome fight on paper. One fighter moved along at the speed of light, vs. One fighter moved along at the pace of a snail. Lomo losing to Salido was probably the best thing to happen to him; Even in Defeat, he realized he can go 12 rounds and actually hurt a veteran champ who weighed the same as Mayweather on fight night for a featherweight bout.Comment

sad thing about this fight is I think if Russell doesn't win in a landslide then loma will get it simply bc he is the one the machine believes will be a greater drawComment

Loooooove this fight. Credit to both guys for this. There's too many ways they could make those dollars without bothering to take chances like this.Comment

It's called letting a fighter develop and giving him seasoning. The tried and true method that has been used in the sport since the old days.
You allow the boxer to work on smoothing out the rough edges, on learning the craft, and on becoming more complete before you throw him into the major leagues. You want him to have the know-how to be able to keep the title for a while when he finally wins it.....instead of losing right away because he doesn't know how to fight inside or how to game plan for a 12 round fight.Comment

So You want him to fight 24 bums like Gary Russell did and then in your mind "you will feel better" about seeing him get the title shot. There's more than one way to skin a cat, If the man thinks he's ready then let him hop in the furnace. Considering he lost a split decision against a Veteran who came in overweight and fouled the whole match I would say he's ready. Salido would've stopped probably any other fighter who was fighting him in their Second Professional bout but barely slipped away with the split decision victory. You guys are focusing too much on the loss and missing all the good things that transpired in that fight. Im not saying he beats Gary Russell, but Gary's resume doesn't make this fight a forgone conclusion. Look at the Cab driver he fought in his last fight and tell me Lomo and Salido wouldn't stop that guy in 2 rounds. It's called letting a fighter develop and giving him seasoning. It would be better for his development as a fighter. But if he is so arrogant that he thinks he already knows it all then that's on him.
Plus there are guys who have been toiling away for years who got passed over by Lomachenko, that is unfair to them.Comment
