Comments Thread For: Arum Talks Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Gary Russell Jr.

June 21 will bring a highly rare occasion — a Top Rank fighter on a card put on by Golden Boy Promotions. On that day, Vasyl Lomachenko will face Gary Russell Jr. for a vacant featherweight world title on a tripleheader broadcast by Showtime from the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Russell is one of numerous boxers who is advised by Al Haymon and who has been fighting on Golden Boy shows. He is 24-0 with 14 knockouts.

He wouldn't have signed with Top Rank to begin with if they didn't get him immediate title fights. It goes hand in hand.

And he beat a ranked WBO contender in his fist fight so Salido made a defense against a ranked contender. Since he was cheated on the scales, he's getting a second opportunity.

This fight is not getting a ton of press, but this is a very intriguing fight. It is rare to see two very talented fighters fight each other so early in their careers. should be a great great fight. Whoever wins this fight will have a long reign as champ.

Arum is the king of subliminal shots.. Basically he is saying Top Rank has a chance to get back some of the market share they lost to GBP, because the Boss who steered them to prominence has been replaced by Oscar.. Arum knows the art of war .... and is a supreme manipulator ... watch out now..

Salido pulled some **** against Loma. Dude came in as a ****ing Welterweight and blatantly fouled at least 100 low blows I bet.

Wasn't the ref Laurence Cole too? **** that
