  • Somebody tell ward that he doesn't have to stay at 175, he can go up for one fight and come back down to 168.

    • Well from the looks of this thread, Ward has found himself a fight that can be made and a fight that fans are interested in. The only problem I see is Ward's insistence on staying at 168. I would like to see what kind of money HBO would offer and if Dan Goosen would be willing to make a deal.

Also, just one minor note about Edwin Rodriguez, the guy everyone pretends doesn't know how to box because he got schooled by Ward... he is ranked as the #6 SMW by IWBR and #8 by TBRB today. He was ranked higher before the Ward fight. He was a bona fide top 5-10 contender when Ward beat him 7 months ago.

      • Kovalev is not even a Draw or a Big Fight right now, he just created a buzz within the internet Boxing Community. Let the Hype continue for Kovalev, GGG and some of these other fighters then you go after them. Don't go after them before they are even Stars and Draws, that is why he doesn't have any Big Opponents Now. Let them COME AFTER YOU! You are the #2 P4P Fighter in the World, you are the King at 168 while Kovalev really haven't done anything in boxing yet besides beat Cleverly?

Let the hype continue for these guys then when the time is right you start calling them out, big fights and big paydays did not come for a lot of these current top fighters until they was well into their 30's so what is the rush for Ward?

Have to agree with you here. Let Ward sit out another 2 years then we don't have to witness his "exciting and fan-friendly" style in the ring. He is a good commentator doe.

          • Ward and his PPV obsession has always made me laugh. Somebody needs to explain to this guy that not everybody gets to enjoy that privilege no matter how good they are. Ward's sense of entitlement is strange and out of place.

            • This is so funny. ...... Here you have Ward at 1608lbs and is a money type fighter but guys in that weight division want to duck him and scream Floyd Mayweather is ducking them for not wanting to jump up to 160 lbs. You got this clown gggthat could fight Ward but is running so fast away from Ward its pathetic. Then there's the guy who wont take a legitimate test that everyone will claim can beat Floyd but won't even try to make a one fight deal to get it done and people back every decision he make but blame Floyd. It's comical when you actually think about all the fights that could get made but won't and the entire casual boxing fan base blames one guy....

Why do casual boxing fans like yourself always scream for the black fighters to move up in weight? ??????? Seriously, I see you don't demand the same from suckers like Pacroid ut are quick to defend that y sayj ng he's to small. Why don't you go overseas or better yet move up........

Kovalev has pulled great ratings against unknown opponents. Ward on the other hand has a boring style, has refused to leave his home state and barely fights, so I'm not sure how much of a draw he is.

A-Wolf on point. That #2 P4P status done went to his head.

                    • Kovalev is on a mad tear right now. No way Ward can escape for 12 rounds Kovalev's wrath. It would be a great fight but Kovalev is the Golovkin of the light heavyweight division. No one wants a part of him.
