I agree with Ward that bigger money fights are at 168 with Chavez Jr & GGG...but those guys wont fight him at the moment. For now I think he really needs to consider a possible move up, unless he doesn't feel he'll be able to move back down after that

Hmm. Sounds like Golovkin, but one guy gets defended.

Oh yeah, Golovkin stays busy fighting Jr Middleweights and unknown C fighters. He gets a pass.

Then what?? Obviously the return to prominence atop the pfp list and being the clear cut man at 175. Sounds like Ward is scared to me.

kelvis, geale and macklin are top 10 MW. hell, i think both were / will be top 5 MW when they fought golovkin. macklin is already a good boy, and geale will know what it's like soon.

I don't know. Maybe the hunger just isn't there for him anymore. Personally I think he outclasses Kovalev and beats GGG in a tough fight.

I'm not talking about Geale, Geale hasn't even happened yet. He is 33 and still fighting guys who, to date, are his best wins. I am pretty sure Macklin was #6 but that's one decent win in between Jr MW's and guys who can take beatings.

If Ward stays busy fighting the lower top 10 SMW's, no one would care, they would still complain about Ward having to move up in weight but give GGG a pass and ask Cotto, Mayweather, Canelo to move up and fight him.

Let's face it anyway, Geale lost to Barker, he's a decent win. The top 10 at MW is not really full of good fighters, it's more like the best of a bad bunch. Golovkin, Cotto a blown up WW, and Murray are the best fighters at MW. 160 is a weak division.

Exactly. Chavez if he beats Froch then GGG, then move up. Maybe if another guy like DeGale or Anthony Dirrell establishes himself he will have other options too.

Can anyone make an educated guess on how long it'll be before Ward steps back into the ring?
