And what PPV and money fights are there at 168? Dude is starting to sound delusional and entitled when he's been inactive and hasn't had a good victory since 2011. The boxing world continues to move and doesn't wait for one fighter. 175 has Hopkins, Stevenson, Pascal and Kovalev, those fights sound better than anything at 168 for him.

I think it is James Prince that is deluding his way of thinking. Achievements in boxing does not mean extra money. You need extra fans and sitting dormant is not going to get him any.
Like what Cotto did over the weekend. He moved up and not only maintained his own fans, he got the boxing world buzzing and most likely gained fans. That is how it is done.
It is not done in court. It is not done with bickering or self entitlement. It is all about giving the paying public what they want to see.Comment

He can just retire now and you will remember him as the GOAT, because of what he would do in your wet dreams. Good for you, good for the rest of us.Comment

Why doesn't Ward fight?
I haven't been following Ward's whole career, but when looking at his record, and seeing that he pretty much cleaned out Super Middle I really don't get why he doesn't at least consider moving up to Light Heavy
it seems more logical than sitting around doing nothing in a legal issue with his promotion
I don't get his reasoning. 168 is no longer the go-to weight class. It has withered away. 175 is not much either, but at least there are potential opponents there.
He has this sense of entitlement that he is not deserving of. This is a game that will move on without him. If you sit on the sidelines you will disappear in them.
but how's that been working for him?Comment

Andre Ward doesn't seem to understand that no boxer is entitled to anything, no matter what you've done. You want more fame? You want more money? You want to be remembered a certain way? Get in the ring and earn it.
Seriously, I'm so over him. I couldn't care less anymore. A**shole wins a few fights 3-5 years ago and thinks he should get the world for it.Comment

Ward is a great fighter but he's not a great talker and he's not the most exciting guy. His best chance of big $$$ is to stay active, take the best fights he can get and hope something huge is on the horizon. Even if he wants to wait at 168 for Chavez and Golovkin, he would do well to have a belt or at least be active enough that he's in everyone's minds. As things stand he's been marginalised and that's only going to get worse.
Right now he's very high risk and the more time he spends on the shelf the less the reward is for his potential opponents as well. The 4 belts in the division are all held by guys Ward has beaten which sums it up really.Comment

I just can't figure Ward out. When I see him commentating he comes across as intelligent, knowledgable, and realistic. But the decisions he makes about his own career, and the reasons he gives for making them, are just idiotic.
And how long is he going to be on the p4p list, and "the best super-middleweight in the world" without actually beating anyone worthwhile?Last edited by kafkod; 06-10-2014, 11:12 AM.Comment

kovalev is not an easy fight for ward.
the guy may not be tested yet but stylistically, he'll give ward all he could handle. kovalev fights at full range with his long arms. he's an aggressive offensive fighter but he goes in with jabs and straight punches. his combinations are brutal and he got fast hands too.
ward of course will baffle him with his lateral movements and will make him miss but if kovalev catches him, ward will fall down. kovalev is a dangerous fight for anyone because of his power...not to mention he has the size advantage over ward.Comment

Then you celebrate your victory, gain more respect by defeating a guy most believe is a killer & P4P the hardest puncher in boxing ATM, then you move onto the next opponent. ****ing moron. What kind of logic is this guy working with? Bidnizz move logic aka ducking logic, I guess.Comment
